I have been working at MV Transportation full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

No real possibility of promotions. I think it is due to the nature of the business. However, the benefits were satisfactory, and the schedule was flexible.

    Cons

Safety training sessions were provided yearly or at any time there was a need.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more attentive and pay the employees for the hard job they do.

I worked at MV Transportation full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There was no problem in getting time off. There were always extra hours available if you want them. I enjoyed interacting with the customers. Safety was always a priority.

    Cons

You are constantly on the go & it's hard to get a break during your shift, even to eat or go to the restroom.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be better if the people in dispatch spoke English as their first language. It can be very hard to understand them over the radios when they have a heavy accent.

I have been working at MV Transportation full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I like working with people in all facets plus the history of the company and its hard work to expand.

    Cons

Upper management treats the employees like robotic line workers that are supposed to just work and that's it. They're not allow to get sick and miss time otherwise they get penalized; the morale is extremely low as employees fear being written up and/or terminated at a moment's notice; the entire culture is extremely negative leading to the turnover rate possibly being very high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to be humans who care about the health and well-being of your employees. Give positive feedback when someone does something right instead of finding something wrong with what they did. Be more encouraging as a means to bring the morale up; high morale means people want to come to work and perform at a high level.

I have been working at MV Transportation

    Pros

They are always hiring. It was easy to get the job and the training wasnt that difficult. You get paid for the almost 5 weeks of training and get paid 50¢ extra for driving wheelchair vechiles even when you have no wheelchair rides. Some of the riders are super nice and will still tip you even if you are late. People at the company are really nice and try to help you as much as they can.

    Cons

You don't get paid enough for the work you do. Its not just driving. It's driving, customer service and babysitting. And other drivers like to get aggresive when they have to wait for you to load and unload your riders so you have to deal with that.

I worked at MV Transportation full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people, at the lower levels, good benefits

    Cons

Management unable to make decisions. Racist "and I am white" Sexist group of young managers. Sickening that they can't make decisions for the pay they get.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move over and let someone who is willing to work for the tax payers and use they money wisely.

I have been working at MV Transportation

    Pros

All the overtime you want. Guaranteed anniversary raise (small, but better than nothing). Lots of great co-workers. Training provided.

    Cons

To get off road & into office means pay cut. And, someone better REALLY like you in management. Need more training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen better to people you manage, because if it wasn't for us - you wouldn't have a job
