I have been working at MV Transportation full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – There is not a specific reason working with this company other than earning income. Being in the midst off financial difficulties, I choose to get that job than stay home without income. however, my income helps me to overcome certain financial issues.
Cons – Driving job is a challenging one due to weather, and the people we do transport mostly people with need and Elderly.
Advice to Senior Management – The management should encourage its workers by providing a good salary and benefit
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at MV Transportation
Pros – Training program is excellent. You learn a lot of quality driving techniques that you never thought of. Training program is very thorough.
Cons – They claim to preach "safety over schedule" and while some genuinely practice it, there are those who preach it yet have no problem riding you for being late. I get that passengers have time that is valuable but if you're going to preach "safety over schedule," don't harp on being late.
Advice to Senior Management – I left because I had an opportunity to eliminate a commute otherwise it was a good experience but in interview please can the "would you give me the keys to your house?" line. Sorry, I have to know you well before I go that far. Horrible analogy.

I have been working at MV Transportation part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Getting experience as a driver for a bus.
Cons – Training is not detailed as it should be. The pay rate is below bay area salary for bus drivers. The hours are very sporadic, inconsistent, and most times not enough.
Advice to Senior Management – Consider the Drivers because their job is why you have one.

I have been working at MV Transportation
Pros – Better then setting at home
Cons – If MV paid a living wage for the Los Angeles area they would persuade more drivers to respect the company. I don’t understand what they are giving us in the health benefit package as I can find with little effort
Better health plans with much lower cost such as the one Costco offers to the public, that is there when you want it not when MV decides you get it and I don’t understand why MV offers such a bad health plan when anyone can do better finding one on there own.
Advice to Senior Management – Don’t treat your drivers like children

I worked at MV Transportation as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – It was great helping the handicap clients.
Cons – This crazy penalty system have have should be abolished by DART. If the client is constantly booking trips and cancelling or NO SHOWING then punish them. Just because you pick someone up early should be a plus for the clients considering most of the time we are late because of the tight manifest schedule. We are humans and can only go so fast to pickup and drop off clients. Also no meal breaks or breaks at all unless you get lucky and your manifest has a gap in it, but you can bet those dispatchers will find a run for you. Also the dispatchers are very rude when they talk to you and can't think outside the box...no common sense...I guess they are just going by the rules, which are very inflexible.
Advice to Senior Management – Management got my thoughts in the 12 page document I sent to POE who we were a contractor for. POE really needs to find another company to work with as MV Transportation's management loves to fire people because you are not submissive to them...get a life management and follow the rules of labor. Just because Texas is "At Will" doesn't mean you have to fire people at a whim. Give us a chance to have formal counseling pattern in our 90 day probation to learn the policies and procedures, we were not taught these in our VERY short training. Those incident reports you have us write up are nothing more then a pattern of problems for the driver and nothing gets done with them. Dispatch should not be considered management. Supervisors are supervisors and they are the ones in the white shirts. Also you have a lot of disparity between Supervisors and Dispatchers. Very sad company to work for and I really liked my job. :o(

I have been working at MV Transportation
Pros – you meet people who have disabilites, and they are graitful to get out in the world and appreciate
our services
Cons – they over book trips,a person coming from dialysis should not have to ride two or more hours
Advice to Senior Management – please put more effort into the people customer service, than how many miles a driver goes for their nonprofit company
