    Pros

Good perks, decent pay. Depending on the job position you can work from home. Some of the managers are amazing and will definitely help you out and try to get you as trained as possible.

    Cons

Some of the managers are terrible and just like to yell at you. No one seems to ever be rewarded for anything. Upper management seems to have no idea what is going on and loves to hold multiple meetings on the same topics where we discuss the same things because they just don't seem to get it. Project management is a total mess.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the employees. Stop paying the CEO a million dollars and give the rest of us a raise, or stop firing everyone. The constant reorganization is disorienting and troubling. Please come up with a plan and just do it, even if it means shifting half the company.

    Pros

Nice gym, parking lot. Some really genuine and hard working people there. Can learn a lot. They are trying to improve the chain of communication and work together

    Cons

Difficult to advance, layoffs are tough to deal with as then work just accumulates and there is no reward. Unsure why there are so many high level positions. Some very overworked people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that workers do also want to advance. Promote from within, not only hiring VPs from outside.

    Pros

Enjoyed working with my peers and users

    Cons

Cut-throat atmosphere, poor project planning (project maturity model) above Project management level, poor communication, unrealistic imposed deadlines on projects, restructuring based on "eliminating knowledge base" rather than seeking ways to increase revenue (when was the last time you saw a billboard or advertisement for MVP HealthCare?), under-compensated/not recognized for extra effort. Suggestions for process improvements inevitably turned to an upper-level attitude that workers were inefficient.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The staff has repeatedly have made suggestions (ex. reduce excess process), but the upper management's idea to fiscally save a company is to reduce their workforce. They know the answers already, but continually fail to act.

    Pros

Very talented and dedicated work force

    Cons

Management is not well connected to line staff and does not provide sufficient leadership or direction on a day-to-day basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be more in touch with and understand your front line staff to know what they need and support them. Provide hands-on leadership within your area of responsibility and throughout the company. Minimize or end the adversarial relationships that exist at the senior level. Assign the most qualified staff to lead the various parts of the organization without favoritism.

    Pros

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and realize your failure to the working team. Get rid of micro-mananging and start listening to you team. We know what were doing and we are professionals. Stop fixing what is not broken.

    Pros

Wonderful Staff, friendly work environment. Provide amenities on site such as employees gym. Snack areas with free coffee, tea and Cocoa. Parking garage for employees. I am a customer of MVP and, as a customer, I am satisfied. I would recommend them to a friend.

    Cons

Project managers and managers do not negotiate with programmers regarding how much time is required to complete a task. The task must be completed in a limited amount of time and if it is not then the developer is punished. It doesn't matter how reasonable the time allotted may be. Management is not supportive and. at times, hostile. IT is an expense for MVP. It is not a solution. As a former employee I would recommend anyone considering this company to proceed with caution.

    Pros

    Very good pay for industry

    Cons

CEO is lawyer with very little to no operation, contracting, marketing, finance experience. Ran legal department for all but one year of career. High department turnover and lowest department satisfaction rating. Company losing $M and membership shrinking fast with no clear plan. Board made up of retirees and doctors with no executive insurance experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Buying Hudson Health Plan major distraction hiding membership and financial losses. Company has about 700 more employees than needed to run efficient health plan. CEO needs to cuts hundreds of job but will not. Lacks backbone
