The IT department has gone downhill after changes in management

    JDE Support (Former Employee)

Pros-For the most part, the customers were great to work with. They were appreciative of the help.
    -There was minimal travel.
-I talked to people in other departments who were happy at MWH.

Cons-Management is focused on putting enhancements and 'nice to haves' into the software, which have been wanted for a long time (actually a pro). But unfortunately, they don't have the resources to also fully or comprehensively address problems in the system that impact the stability of the system and integrity of the data.
-In my experience, hard work and putting in extra hours were not rewarded.
-A number of IT jobs have been outsourced to India. It's my understanding they will continue to outsource as many jobs as possible.
-When I left, many employees were no longer respected in the IT dept. It wasn't like that when I started and I wasn't the only one who felt this way. A lot of good people have left in the last 1-2 years because of it.
-Management does not understand the JDE system and doesn't have any desire to. However, they are happy to make important decisions based on a distorted view and very limited knowledge.
-From checking other reviews, you'll see a number of people talking about fairly frequent 'reorganizations'. The JDE support get to implement those in the system - you'll get the information you need at the last minute and be expected to have the changes completed in extremely little time.
-They no longer invest in training for their employees.

    Good Entry-Level Opportunity

    Proposal Coordinator (Former Employee)
    Broomfield, CO

    ProsEstablished company
    Lots of learning opportunities
If pursuing a technical career, great place to start

    ConsMicromanagement within certain BUs
Too much shifting of departments and staff
    Layoffs the past two years

Advice to Senior ManagementBe sure to inform employees of any issues as they are occurring, not after the fact. Not a great management style. Not very transparent. Try to boost morale.

Great People, Interesting Work in Interesting Places

    Consultant (Current Employee)

ProsThere is no shortage of talented, dedicated people and you have the opportunity to work with them on interesting projects around the world.

ConsFor non-engineers, career path is not clear and often advancement only means a fancier title. The emphasis on billable time make it difficult to develop new skills and grow project experience. Pay increases are very modest.
