Cons – Lack of community and rather isolated as an employee. I just made money for them. That was it.

Cons – IT Department does not know how to manage technical projects. Outsourcing has been a disaster. Business stakeholders have completely unrealistic expectations.

Advice to Senior Management – You don't get something for nothing,which is why outsourcing development to India has become passe. Hire experienced IT professionals who have experience managing technical projects and can provide realistic deadlines.

Pros – Company has established clients in federal, municipal and private utility companies. Work is relatively stable. Management is decent. Casual work environment and flexible work hours.

Cons – Company is gradually shifting work to india through design service group.. If you work with design service group, chances are you are not be very happy.

Pros – Generally high quality coworkers who work together to try to get things done despite barriers presented and dramas created by managers.

Cons – Few competent managers with management skills. Old company -- not current with technology or processes. Frustrated employees who feel like they have no voice or outlet as no one listens. Good Ol' Boys club feel to the company.

Advice to Senior Management – Institute a review system that reaches employees of all levels instead of just managers. Review all manager's performance based on employee feedback. Embrace chcane and technology. Move forward.

Cons – Really none but if I had to say one maybe the traveling.

- Constant reorganization
- Senior managers are unaware of what engineers really do
- Always short staffed and required to support everything
- No support and recognition for hard working people
- Politics and money constantly interferes with making good technical decisions
