I worked at MacDermid full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Small company feel with lots of learning opportunities. Many long term employees at all divisions, so we got to know each other like family. A lot of variety in assignments. MacDermid is known as a "frugal" company. This is a pro and a con. The pros are that they are careful with their finances and it applies at all levels.

    Cons

Diminishing market for newspaper printing plates forced plant closure. Corporate did not seem interested in investing in R&D to develop products for new markets. The con of MacDermid's frugality is that you sometimes do not have what you need to get the job done.

I have been working at MacDermid full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

MacDermid has a diverse portfolio of products and likes to promote from the inside

    Cons

Some of the people of very self involve and focused on their career so there tends to be a lack of team. It feels more like this division vs this division

    Advice to Management

More team unity and find ways to promote your industry
