    Pros

Cool company, innovative, great benefits/culture - Macerich was very corporate but had a very unique feel to it.

    Cons

Some people were promoted to very senior positions extremely quickly, while other hard workers were not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to look to promote from within.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Staff members are mostly very welcoming and helpful. The pay was decent considering the job duties. 401k was offered for part time employees.

    Cons

Employee Hours are very dependent on gift card sales, sales cold calling to business's with out any commission or bonus potential.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it a point to include Guest Services on important updates as they are the face of the company.

    Pros

    Fairly stable.
    Decent pay and benefits.
    Reasonable with work-life balance requirements.

    Cons

Who you know is much more important than what you know.
Outward appearances are more important than actual results.
    Career advancement is very slow.
Type A personalities (extroverts) rewarded, while Type B personalities (introverts) are ignored.
A large portion of the company is middle management, all given "Vice President" titles.
Many people in middle management seem to feel entitled to special treatment and exemption from company policies.
After the original President was pushed into retirement, it seems like poor business decisions keep being made.
No transparency in Executive-level operations after the original President left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the office culture of "who you know vs. what you know,", if you can, and cut out the unnecessary middle management. Make time to consider the Type B people in the company who are good at what they do but don't make themselves known. Stand by your word when you say you will help your employees with career advancement. Be more open and transparent about the decisions being made regarding the company's direction.

    Pros

Flexible work time, work/life balance, good office location, respectful workplace.

    Cons

Lack of corporate culture, most work is data-entry, creativity is not rewarded or desired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fine place to work if you want to shut off your mind for 8 hours a day. Some managers completely lack people skills, but others are fine.

    Pros

    Good work conditions
    Great benefits package
    Highly skilled management team
Keeping up with IT trends and solutions
    Good cross (IT) department collaboration
Relatively quick to fix a hiring mistake
Jusdt an overall great place to work!

    Cons

Since departure of previous CEO the transparency from the top down has taken a serious hit
While the above is true, the corporate culture in the Phoenix Office has remained much the same, which is a good thing
Hold accountable those that are inneffective at or just plain avoid their jobs instead of letting them get others fired

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For the IT department - Keep on doing what you're doing for the most part. It was great to work there and I would again down the road.
For Senior management, realize where the strength of the company really is and quit trying to morph into something that has been proven to not work in the industry.
