I have been working at Macquarie University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Scope for development, seemingly cash rich due to sub leasing to private sector, good green space, good super plan

    Cons

many layers of administrative staff, safety standards confusing, difficult to get things done, low morale

    Advice to Management

invest in sciences, hire more young academics, get rid of restrictive M Res course as it will put off international talent

I worked at Macquarie University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great competitive hourly rate for a relaxed and open work place, with some staff benefits. Management always sought areas for improvement and was open to suggestions.

    Cons

Difficulty to expand into different areas of the university.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees the ability to further develop skills beyond the current role and branch into different faculties.

I worked at Macquarie University part-time

    Pros

I worked with a great team of people at Macquarie University. Colleagues were always very helpful and kind. Working hours are good and the pace is generally quite relaxed and nothing like corporate.

    Cons

There was a lack of efficiency and a lack of a long term sustainable view on operations and procedures. Many things were put in place with a rush and then amended again when management realised procedures were inefficient.

    Advice to Management

Include front of house staff when implementing changes
