Fairfield, CA

Former Employee – worked at Macro Plastics

ProsFlexible hours, friendly coworkers, fun place to work, reasonable salary, room for creativity, personal growth, education. Generous shareholders, bonus, Great 401k program.

ConsNeed better communication. Not always organized. Medical benefits lacking. Large turnover and upper management changes invoked fear of employees losing their jobs. Atmosphere of distrust and uncertainty.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen more. Provide employees positive feedback consistently when they do well. Improve communications. Think fully through processes as to how they would affect every department company wide before implementing them . Provide team building activities for departments to enhance cohesion and unity.

Fairfield, CA

Current Employee – been working at Macro Plastics

ProsUnique well made products...early Macro was exciting, market aggressive, customer centric, paid well and had a decent family oriented management style that meshed well with the agricultural industry.

ConsNW plant bled sales & profits causing pressure on sales outside NW.
Former CEO replaced with a "wolf in sheeps clothing" who wasn't to be trusted from day ONE in anything he said or did. Completeley stalled company progress and killed morale from the top down...

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your loyal employee's with honest and open communication, provide opportunity and career development, promote from within and regret you ever hired Pat Brandt!!

Fairfield, CA

Former Employee – worked at Macro Plastics

ProsGreat people and customers. One of the largest employers in Fairfield, CA.
They pay above local wages, annual reviews and are profitable.

ConsRaging turnover and you can not trust them. They say one thing and do something else.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe honest with your employees - tell them the truth.
When you do a restructure and tell people they are on the team don' t turn around and have one more layoff. There were at least 6 different layoffs during the time that I worked there and the company is making money???

Former Employee – worked at Macro Plastics

ProsGood products, loyal employees, paid well, decent benefits in the early days...methodically cut back by former CEO who was incented to sure up the balance sheet, generate bottom line profits for the shareholders and in the end he would benefit.

ConsWas managed remote control by absentee owner, stagnant growth opportunities, unrealistic product sales growth expectations, no one was safe from wrath of former CEO and owner.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
