Pros
Flexible hours
Co-workers are at least tolerable
Unlimited freedom to roam and handle your tasks at your own pace
Management aren't ALL over your work ethics
Cons
Other employees can get VERY competitive over a small sale (If you work as Draw vs Commission)
Management doesn't give much direction, everything you are taught in macys training should be enough when it isn't
Customers who give you a hard time over limited merchandise
Advice to Senior Management
Offer a more hands-on approach to employee satisfaction and approach to job policies and methods.
Other than that we're pretty solid!
Pros
My position is on call. it is easy to earn extra money.
Cons
pretty hard. working in the morning.
Advice to Senior Management
it 's good chance for earning extra money and our team is awesome!!!!

Advice to Senior Management

Advice to Senior Management
look at customer service, not just numbers
Pros
great experience in sales and great co-workers
Cons
not enough pay for the amount of work.
Advice to Senior Management
pay more to keep your better employees. provide greater benefits and promote those who deserve promotion
Pros
- great discounts
- management is helpful and courteous
- fair break and lunch durations
- easy to learn registers
Cons
- fellow associates were rude
- numerous occasions of under-staffing
- many unhappy and unsatisfied customers
- would have a whole week where I wasn't scheduled
Advice to Senior Management
I would advise to them that their customer service is not all that great, and they should probably go a little more strict on the screening process on the attitudes of the associates they hire. Even as a shopper, I'm still upset with the way other associates treat my family and I.
Pros
Good starting salary, pleasant work environment, nice staff, paydays every Friday, and good shifts.
Cons
Folding clothes and organizing may get tedious, and occasional rude customers.
Advice to Senior Management
No
Pros
Ok, pay above Fl minimum wage.
All scheduling is online :)
Cons
Management is only concerned about filling in the schedule. They do not care or sometimes allow you to take your paid 15 minute break.
If someone calls in, you make up for it in your department by overworking.
Advice to Senior Management
Step up, and get to know your employees and may'be you can retain the good ones.
You can work/ sale items too as a retail SALES manager...
Pros
As a floater you are able to work in different departments and learn new products, Macy's offers good discounts on top of sale prices also you can earn macys money when you open more macys accounts with your customers (good incentive), I had many friendly coworkers, given daily goals to reach gave me more sales experience in obtaining those goals.
Cons
(Pearlridge location)
Little to no training in departments: many times you are thrown into a department you know nothing about while having customers get upset with you for not knowing.
High expectations for opening macys accounts with your customers, very hard to do in certain departments and we cannot force the customer to open a account.
Bad management: many times they did not know how to do there job and leave their employees to deal with it. Some managers would not listen to your schedule needs even though they say flexible hours and know you need certain days or times off and schedule you anyway. Many employees are students and the managers would still schedule them when they please. Some would also treat employees badly by raising their voice to them while a lot of favoritism among old timer employees happened.
Request off options did not work half the time.
not much room for advancement or pay raises. This location seems to have a high turnover due to the employees being treated poorly.
Advice to Senior Management
let employees voice opinions, offer reasonable hours and time off, offer more training to employees before putting them into new departments which will also help a lot more customers in return, do not hire managers until they are capable of handling all procedures, do not allow favoritism to some employees. Always stress good communication between employees and managers. Employees will feel a lot comfortable talking to managers. Overall try to treat your employees well so they can be happy and want to come to work to service customers better.
Pros
If you got put into a good department, it was nice. I was told I would work in Juniors and got put into Women's petites
Cons
Rude co-workers
Rude managers who blamed everything on you.
Rude customers
Horrible Pay
No room for growth
Low Pay !!
Advice to Senior Management
Treat everyone with respect.
Oh, and please stop blaming sales associates for things that should have been done by you.
