    Pros

Set your own hours dependent upon position.
    Great benefits
    Great interaction with customers
    Consistent amount of hours.

    Cons

I enjoyed working with macy's. I don't really have any complaints. The only thing I would suggest is to be more trust worthy of your employees.

    Advice to Management

My advice to Management would be to keep doing what your doing. Management is very cooperative and understanding of most situations if you communicate well.

    Pros

    Awesome sick pay/benefits
    Nice Paid Vacation
Willing to promote and develop from within, but are open to fresh perspectives from the outside
    Solid pay
    Bonuses
Other incentives for associates and management

    Cons

For changes to occur, can take a long time through the corporate red tape
Lack of investment in infrastructure (internet capabilities, phone lines, POS units)
Band-Aids for repairs instead of fixing the root cause of issues
Experience depends on the store manager and district manager you have (this can also be a Pro, it really depends on the management)

    Advice to Management

A stronger mentorship program within learning development would prove fruitful. If coaching and development is so important to the company, then why not have a mentorship program? Also, listen to your customers. I understand certain standards to meet; however, you can't meet the standards if you're not providing what customers have said in their comments. This puts management in a tough spot sometimes, especially when the focus is trying to make customers happy.

    Pros

Macy's M.A.G.I.C. sales training program was a great refresher that has proven useful in later retail roles. The commission in the fine jewelry department is outstanding. I was amazed by how much I earned while working 25-35 hours/week during the holiday season.

    Cons

Depending on the store, you may encounter the strangest cliques from department to department. I picked up a shift in juniors once as a 20-something, and the teens working there were just evil.

    Advice to Management

Be present and involved in the development of your department. A coworker was caught stealing $50,000+ in merchandise shortly after I resigned, and this caused some distrust within the team.
