    Pros

I loved the people I worked with and the customers I met. Had a really great boss Lisa at the time, learned a lot and most of the time had fun at work! The flexible schedule was great.

    Cons

They don't pay well for the work expected. Always short handed!!, the fitting rooms are overwhelming with not a lot of recovery help, takes a lot out on your body. They care about how many macy cards you open period. Always complimented for those, Poor incentives , security always looking for a reason to fire people .

    Advice to Management

hire more people faster and let the hard working associates (not all) know they are really appreciated, cause that's who and what the customers see and come back for, besides the clothing.

    Pros

Good mgmt, 401k matching contributions, profit sharing, medical benefits, & employee discounts

    Cons

Understaffed, work overload, low pay, small raises, vacation time blackouts

    Advice to Management

mgmt & support staff are understaffed & overworked w/unrealistic objectives. There needs to be more staff & incentives for support. Too many floor moves, @ critical times of the year, & store visits on top of under trained associates.

    Pros

    1. Can get macys and macys.com products at a discount
    2. Beauty queens parade around the work place soothing the senses of men
    3. Situated in downtown area therefore there are lot of restaraunts around

    Cons

    1. The technical team there had no interest in work. They were actually enacting a drama
    2. Somebody from other team mentioned that the team I worked for had the thickest skin
    3. If you schedule meetings people might not show up. so its optional
    4. I dont know if this is a pro or a con but people do not have to work
    5. There was some really stinky guy around, so I guess you dont have to work.

    Advice to Management

Throw caution in the wind for new hires.

Great company culture and involvement. Breakfasts with Execs was really interesting. Beautiful brand new building in San Francisco. Interesting dynamic with intern project. Very much enjoyed it.

    Cons

Thought I was doing well and received good feedback, and was confused at not receiving and offer.

    Pros

Leadership team is excellent, one of the best groups of people I've had the pleasure to work with. Definitely a "family atmosphere" at my store, although I've heard that other stores do not have as good a working environment. Excellent webinare-type leadership training.

    Cons

Low pay (but that's inherent to retail). Systems are pretty antiquated. Also, requiring an employee to apply for a store credit card in order to receive the employee discount was disappointing. Nothing else really comes to mind.

    Advice to Management

Revisit the compensation scale. The only reason I would jump ship is more more pay. Would also suggest requiring the long-term leadership to go through refresher training.
