The addition of more employee perks could be usefull, considering the market position of Macy's as a leader in the retail industry.

I have been working at Macy's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Macy's store is an interactive and moving environment that force you to think on your feet quickly and efficiently, which gives you a platform to start being better in HR and customer service

    Cons

The work can seem busy at times and when shifts are not covered, you can be pushed into working more than you thought you would be. This can start to feel like you are being taken advantage of in the workplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more people to do background work. They are the ones who make the store into a better working and shopping environment.

I worked at Macy's as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The company claims to be using Agile methods and it does in the small.

    Cons

Agile methods are not used above the group level. They use water FALL with indecisive management. Many people in management do not want to make decisions and own them.

Adding this to support groups (Dev Ops, Release Mgt, Ops., etc.) that are not accountable to any of the product groups.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make Dev Ops, Release Mgt, Ops. and reactive departments have accountability to the software developers that they support!
