Pros
Pleasant atmosphere with excellent working conditions and benefits. Company culture quite reserved and everyone treated with dignity and respect. Good opportunities for training. Management generally has open-door policy and suggestions for improvements are welcomed.
Cons
Since economic downturn too much is demanded of too few workers and the outsourcing of a number of tasks to the global service center makes communication and problem-resolution difficult.
Advice to Senior Management
Be generous with commendation.
Pros
good benefits for employees, company is open to change, company is heading in the right direction, financially strong company, top management listens to colleagues
Cons
low compensation, poor sales force, top heavy company (on management side), poor understanding of market and competition, lack of recognition based on performance, constant systems issues
Advice to Senior Management
do work/ time measurement study to determine realistic KPI's and set them accordingly. Recognize and reward colleagues based on performance: promote from within.
Pros
It is a good place for the starter. You can learn a lot from the work. And it is the company with well known name.
Cons
it is too political place. Too much talk instead of doing work. The senior managment needs to understand the business more instead of "making" report everyday.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to what employee say. Focus on more on the business. Promote the employee who perform good job. Build up IT system please.
Pros
International environment, nice/young collaegues, good starting job, many entry jobs, good e-learning programs
Cons
much overtime, hierarchical, top management far away from working environment, many promises, but no action from top management, a lot of downsizing last years.
Advice to Senior Management
focus on employee rentention, better salary
Pros
good benefits for employees, company open to change, company is heading in the right direction, financially strong company, top management listens to colleagues
Cons
low compensation, poor sales force, incompetent midline management, bureaucracy, poor understanding of market and competition, lack of recognition based on performance, constant systems issues
Advice to Senior Management
reach out to colleagues to find out the "real" difficulties, frustrations, obstacles and listen to what they have to say
Pros
If you were a bureaucratist and love to consolidate reports then it is the best place for you
Cons
bureaucracy, lack of common sense, tons of reports bring you nowhere
Advice to Senior Management
walk away from your desk and start building human relationships with clients
Pros
Management is strong and the company seems to care very much for its employees. The history and culture are strong and the scale of the larger organization(APM-Maersk) is impressive, very financially stable.
Cons
The company is placing more focus on benchmarking against competition and this will place more pressure on individual performance. This is not necessarily a bad thing but will result in greater internal pressure to achieve financial results. Job stability may not be what it once was.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to focus on communicating areas of focus and objectives for the larger organization. This is a challenging economic environment and being open and honest is valued by all.
Pros
Good work experience and working there will put you in a good position to earn more money when you leave.
Cons
The payreviews are very poor and you can often find yourself 20% behind market value
Advice to Senior Management
Ensure preformance is rewarded, this would cut down on staff turnover
