    Pros

I like the benefits, and how supervisor work with you, also like the monthly meetings so that everyone can be on the same pages.

    Cons

No overtime, I do not have this in my department, and the fact that you get paid Semi Monthly.

    Advice to Management

To fight for higher raises for your employees who work so hard to make things happen.

    Pros

The company has multiple divisions and the experience I had in my division was quite positive.

    Cons

Magellan's silos are on different planets and one has no concept what is really going on in the other silo.Overall, the benefits were okay but not the best.

    Advice to Management

Break down the silos and work on keeping talent management.

    Pros

I have found that Magellan really treats 'work/life' balance with the highest priority. It is an open culture with emphasis on continued learning with ample opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

The company has offices all over the country with a large 'work-at-home' population. For some, the lack of face-to-face interaction can be a challenge.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep an open information environment so all employees feel a part of Magellan success.

    Pros

There were many people who worked there for many years who had a lot of knowledge. Also, there was a lot of effort put in to keep the energy and morale high.

    Cons

Often co-workers were too busy on phones to help you when you needed help with clinical case questions.

    Advice to Management

Management needed to stay focus on a strategy, it changed too often and care managers were caught in the middle. Unfortunately, this location is no longer open.

    Pros

Employees are treated well, benefits OK. Work life balance was adequate.

    Cons

Office culture was a bit "cliquish" Company did not offer many opportunities for advancement. It seemed like the same people were always being promoted or considered for advancement opportunities while others likely qualified were not even considered unless they were "friends" with management. Certain positions were valued more than others.

    Advice to Management

Implement a more objective system for promoting/identifying internal talent.

    Pros

Gaining respect from employees. Being accepted for what you know. Job I had didn't need much training although there were classes that I could have taken if someone showed the way..

    Cons

Needs to show a little kindness from senior mgt towards employees being laid off. Acknowledge work experience better.

    Pros

The health benefits are good. If you happen to get a good supervisor, you will be in luck.

    Cons

Unfortunately, I worked for one of the call centers so the environment was pretty abysmal.

    Pros

Compensation seems relatively fair; received a modest raise each year I worked there. Benefits are pretty much standard, yet competitive. Team members I worked with were awesome; always ready to help and collaborate; this was supported and encouraged by the team management personnel, who were also responsive to questions, needs, issues, etc. most of the time.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations at times. Performance reviews and evaluations were rote, rarely helpful or ongoing (I'm the type of person that appreciates the feedback that reviews/evaluations can provide, when done well).

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent. There were some times that certain issues or possible organizational changes that would clearly impact individual employees and/or the team that were not discussed openly even though they were not business/proprietary sensitive.
