Very family-like, place to work. Satisfying, classy, and elegant. The people are wonderful, and diverse.
Cons
Can get hectic with holidays, and weekends, you work on thanksgiving with out a chance to get off.
Advice to Senior Management
Try not to be so stern at times, for some managers. Learn to have fun with what you have got. At the end of the day, you will feel much better.
Pros
Maggiano's is in it infancy. There is alot of potential for rapid advancement. People are passionate about the food they serve and the service they give.
Cons
Have no real system of company wide rollouts there are no standards from one store to another. Have to be in the right place at the right time to get promoted.
Advice to Senior Management
Get systems in place for advancement that are measurable and allow company wide acess to advancement.
Pros
Pay is good, the people who work there are great, and the customers are great. Every day is different and the the atmosphere is positive.
Cons
Hours and schedule can be be extremely stressful at times. The fast pace can be overwhelming at times, but that's a part of the job.

Management doesn't like suggestions. Very defensive about anything input from staff.

Having an open-door policy is more than just saying it in the handbook.
Pros
Easy, fun, but working through high school was tough, most of the servers were nice. Some, however, were complete asses thinking that you were their slaves.
Cons
The Hours are tough if your not use to restaurants, Tips are taxed so pay checks get voided, usually leading to having to pay taxes in april... even if your sixteen and a dependent.

The management was weak and condescending towards the bus staff, the bus staff is considered less than human and is constantly in trouble for not noticing one glass of water among 14 tables is empty

You can make good tips
There isn't really any FOH, BOH tension
Schedule can be fairly flexible, if you make your requests far enough in advance
Managers are usually very helpful and easy going
Cons
Tables can get crowded
Customers are older, and can be cranky and cheap
When it gets busy, you don't have time to do anything but the most basic serving steps
The busy times are incredibly stressful
