I have been working at Maggiano's full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I like the work and being able to interact with guests. My coworkers are wonderful people and I enjoy showing up to work. The guests are typically very nice and happy people.

    Cons

The pay is decent but there are no real benefits. I do not get a meal even when I am working a double, and I don't usually work more than 30 hours. There can sometimes be drama, which is natural in a restaurant environment.

    Pros

friendly, kind, accommodating, organized, and a fabulous company to work for! Always room to grow and gives you a strong base for working in the industry.

    Cons

Never had much of a problem with anything working for them. Although, their benefits package is no where near as good as it used to be.

I have been working at Maggiano's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours in my experience. Less so if you are only a server. For the most part Healthcare, nice discount, and great food! If you are young it is a great place to work and make a good amount of money. If you are dedicated, work hard, and don't mind wearing many hats, you will never want for hours.

    Cons

The training for positions is spotty at best. I have seen many servers fail because of lack of training. Management, while in the past have been decent, are now the cause of us losing more then a few good staff members. We have inconsistent standards across the restaurant which causes many conflicts between servers, kitchen staff, and managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider reevaluating the training classes as well as each section of the restaurant's standard procedure. To be more aware of what goes on around the restaurant and stay out of the gossip around the restaurant.

I have been working at Maggiano's full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They are always willing to work with your schedule. You are able to work more than just one station and picking up shift is not difficult.

    Cons

Training is sketchy and sometimes you don't get training. The managers seem to have favorite employees who always seem to get away with a few things. The lack of recognition to some of the employees make it difficult to work sometimes. There are bad servers and for some reason they still keep them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you know what is going on in the restaurant. Train your employees well if you want them to do more than just good. Trust employees to do a good job.

I have been working at Maggiano's part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

It's always busy, there is $$ to be made. The kitchen is highly efficient and runs like well oiled machine.

    Cons

The floor is always overcrowed with servers, bussers, tables, people, stuff in the way, food runners. Just no space to move----tooo many emplyees. Too many brand standards. Too much, too much.

    Pros

They have so much supports for their staff! The training team is great!

    Cons

    No breaks!
Can't deliver their promise when they hired you got full time, they cut your hours when it's slow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should give breaks to employees every four hours.
