    smart people to work with

Software Architect (Former Employee) San Jose, CA

Prossurrounded by smart people, solving classic hard CS problems, most of them NP-complete, so smart heuristics are invented to solve them. a lot of non-trivial ( i.e. not just a button somewhere ) inventions are made by the company.

Consvery small market that are squeezed by both sides: foundry and semiconductor companies, hence very little growth in terms of business, and translated to little personal growth, even worse is that many Ph.Ds stayed there for long long years, so you need to wait them out to be promoted.

Advice to Senior Managementbe brave, try to take the pie from the semiconductor companies, even though they are your customers.

issue, information, communication can easier be heard and considered by the managerment

Conssales people are compliant to the customers, would accept all the requests
issues sometime not be prioritized very well, work like fire fighters to the critical issue or to the major accounts

with immature and inexperienced folks at top level across R&D/AE, be prepared for no career growth ...

Staff Applications Engineer (Former Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsIt has very good technology and probably is the only EDA company where you will have opp to learn entire flow from RTL-GDSII and become an expert. Lot of oppurtunities to learn and excel at new technologies

ConsWorst work-life balance with avg pay. Mgmt forgets that you have life and 70hrs workweek is very common ...with immature mgmt and inexperienced folks sitting at top levels , decision making is very skewed and talented employees are rewarded very well. Very artificial praises is the best you can get from mgmt ..with top brass so political and often trying to save their jobs, your credit is taken as theirs...

Advice to Senior Managementwith just 600 ppl, please try to encourage non-political free culture and reward your employees well especially support staff...they substitute your tools instability and features...promote only ppl who have experience and maturity ... also if a product is not catching up, please change the R&D architects and you need fresh eyes...

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
