Pros – Generally the management do care about what happens so you feel valued and a useful part of a strong team. Long term job prospects are good in my divison and management are very pro-active in securing future work.
Our benefits packages are good and we are well appreciated and recognised when we do a good job, both as a company and as an individual or smaller team. We do stick to our ethos of being a large family rather than a faceless conglomerate.
They are flexible to peoples needs and are tolerant when you have personal issues that could affect your ability to carry out your role to it's fullest extent.
Cons – Often communication from the top is poor to non-existant. Some SMT can be rather dictatorial. Our open policy regarding recruitment is more often flouted than followed.
Advice to Senior Management – When you ARE given ffedback from the employees that you say you agree with and will do something about - DO IT!

Former Employee – worked at Magna International
Pros – Open environment, as it is constant reorganisation. That means it is flexible in approach, and processes can be proposed and tuned to a certain environment/project, as there is no 'Magna' way of doing things. Hence, it will listen if you make a case to do something, and give you your yard of rope. It engenders good loyalty and team spirit.
Cons – Politics- especially German:UK wars. Constant reorganisation at senior management level destroys effective leadership
Financial controls are stringent - 'doing' (manufacturing, project) departments are seens as support functions to finance. Finance never supports others with info, just demands.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't keep messing it around. Try to leave the VP-ops in place for more than 2 years at a time.

Former Employee – worked at Magna International
Pros – Magna makes so many poor decisions that you can be sure you will not be short of work
Cons – AFTER MANY YEARS OF MISGUIDED LOYALTY AND SERVICE WORKING LONG HOURS HOLIDAYS INCLUDING CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR TO MAKE SURE PROGRAM TIMING IS MET ONLY TO FIND THAT LOYALTY TO MAGNA IS A ONE WAY STREET
Advice to Senior Management – Do what ever you can to bring back the old Magna Way to what it was 7 years ago and before
