Pros
it is a great working environment, everyone is very nice to you. when i was trained i felt like i've been there for two months on the first day of work..
Cons
they should really check into the houses sometimes before making the hours especially if it is a brand new house.
Advice to Senior Management
well the gas prices are really getting high, all most 4 dollars in some states.. and maybe check into brand new houses before setting the hours on the house
Pros
Very flexible and you get off early.
Cons
Walking around with a big rolling book bag full of supplies, rarely tipped, very rude boss and clients
Advice to Senior Management
Be a little more considerate to employees emergencies and families when necessary
Pros
Some clients are very nice and great to work for. They tip and leave great reviews. Some of the clients go above and beyond to show their thanks.
Cons
You start the day at 8:30 and don't get paid for the time you are kept in the office getting your supplies for the day. You don't get paid for time driving. (you may have three houses in one day, 45min drive to each) You get one bad review and you are treated like you can not be trusted.
Mainly, you don't get back what you put into it.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay people for a full days work. If the day starts at 8:30 and ends at 6:00, then pay them for that time. What MaidPro is doing is not fair to the workers. They make you look good, so take care of them.
Pros
It's a good opportunity to make new friends and the starting pay isn't to bad
Cons
When I was interviewed at MaidPro I was told all these wonderful things about benefits such as paid vacation and all sorts of things, though when I got hired in I was told those things are actually only for full time employees and they never hire anyone full time. They also say beforehand you'll never work passed 5pm because that's peoples family time and ours too, yet when they hire they say that sometimes they actually do work you at night, in fact my own mother was hired in as well and had to pull a 9am-8pm shift and the only days she has been getting off is sunday. You use your own car so unless you have an extremely dependable vehicle its not to great there either, especially with gas prices and how little MaidPro compensates you for fuel.
MaidPro expects you to clean a house in a certain order by which room you are in and even by which direction you clean the room. For some people it makes things easier because perhaps it will help them make sure they don't forget anything. But for some people like me, I've cleaned houses before, I know what I'm doing, but I was spending so much time trying to remember the exact way they wanted me to do it that it was taking me five times longer than it should have if they would have just let me go and get it done the way I know how.
You can't take breaks of any kind, even lunch breaks, while doing a house. So if you get stuck somewhere doing a house for 4 hours, then have to hurry up and drive a half hour away to get to another house on time than thats to bad, you don't get lunch.
Advice to Senior Management
All management is different in each MaidPro so I'm sure it's not like this everywhere but the manager here really needs to rethink how she's running things
Pros
Work days Monday thru Friday 8-4 well thats what I was told until a job would have require me to stay longer!, no weekends, holidays or evenings
Cons
No BREAKS!! I over heard someone translating from manager to employee why she didn't call quality control when she was finished with the house & her reply was she had been there from 8:30-4:30 by herself in a huge house & she was very hunger so she left.. well the managers reply you do not leave until you call quality control & they show up & inspect your job I don't care if your hungry the job needs to be finished!! Now you are going to redo this house for free! That was a turning point to see this employee being mistreated. And also you only get paid $2.50 for gas per house, I drove 40 mile in one day & that doesn't make a dent in that gas bill!
Advice to Senior Management
Really communicate with your employees let them know they can have a break!!! And don't have your employees traveling so far when there are clearly some workers who live closer to clients zips!
