Pros
Every one at MBE is friendly and helpful. Although sometimes you feel the strain of working for a large corporation, there's still a sense that you can make a difference.
Cons
Being that it's owned by UPS there is a lot of bureacracy going on and hoops to jump through to get projects done. Also, they aren't exactly a cutting edge employer leading their industry with innovative products and services.
Advice to Senior Management
Make stronger decisions at the top and stick with game plans through execution. Gain cohesion of staff members quicker and be more decisive about plans.
Pros
Great customers to work with. very flexible boss. easy to follow system and procedures. Well organized layout for a retail store.
Cons
This business is being ruined by the internet for the shipping. The copier business is dying due to the fact that the price of copiers have come down so much.
Advice to Senior Management
This the time to ride this business model off into the setting sun. Need to find a better business model.
Pros
I have a very flexible schedule as a college student. As a fairly new store I have free time to do homework when it is not busy.
Cons
There is no benefits package and the pay is very low. I mainly work there as supplemental income; there is no way to support yourself full-time.
Advice to Senior Management
Increase wages with the expectations to bring in more customer revenue. Hire employees for long-term since there is a lot of knowledge associates need to gain.
Pros
Flexible hours and time off
Good locations, very common everywhere
Good amount of training and training materials provided
Decent looking uniform
Cons
Encouraged to upsell and cross-sell too heavily.
Too money focused
Franchise, each boss is different unfortunately
Deal with often angry cheap customers
Advice to Senior Management
Less selling-focused training
Less focus on money, and more focus on the customers and employee needs
Better pay for employees needed
Pros
My manager is very fair and also just plain awesome. It is mostly a friendly environment and its small so not alot of people all the time. THe pay is reasonable, you just have to know how much you actually want at the beginning.
Cons
sometimes it gets boring because of lack of customers but that just because of the economy right now. Some of the customers are rude, and you have to be careful not to pack things wrong, because it is a real liability if you pack a 40,000 dollar item then it breaks because you didnt pack it right.
