    Pros

Wide range of different projects and ways of career development. High salary above the market average. Individual bonuses at the end of the year. Advanced medical insurance. Lunch compensation and many other pleasant trifles.

    Cons

Significant growth of the career only available for employees in the Moscow headquarter. Regional offices provide less opportunities. Relatively uncomfortable open space office.

    Pros

Mail.Ru is one of the IT largest companies in Russia. Lots of well-qualified technical specialists.

    Cons

Bad companies "karma" in IT community; Management is very poor. Product managers are fine, but theirs directors and some of VP are absolutely ineffective. HR working only on hunting new developers; No performance reviews, you need to ask your management about salary growth; In my team is very bad work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Think more about people, not money; Make management performance review.

    Pros

Decent tech Good office and nice perks It' possible to grow quickly Since the company is somewhat immature, a motivated person can get a raise by improving processes. It's usually highly appreciated

    Cons

The company is large but immature due to explosive growth The company writes malware (mail.ru guard and friends) You will be hated for this by some folks Coordinating your efforts with other teams is very hard

    Advice to Management

Converge processes and hire more leads and middle managers

    Pros

Nice salary Sometimes you get very interesting tasks A lot of smart people around

    Cons

Lack of adequate project/team managment: Teams can be up to 30 people reporting to the same manager. If your task requires some kind of two-way interaction between people, the task can take a month instead of some days.

    Advice to Management

Use "single point of contact" approach. Hire project managers (i.e. tech. directors in mail.ru) experienced in management.
