I have been working at Main Line Health part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great and friendly coworkers, along with good pay. I was happy to work in the food and nutrition department. Not a difficult job to complete, especially when you do what you can to help the others out who will be working behind you. Preparation and teamwork in "Key" to success in this workplace. Fun place to start you career and good entry level to get yourself into the Main Line Health Organization.

    Cons

No cons that I can think of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is great, I can't criticize the management department because they do their job to the furthest extent.

I have been working at Main Line Health full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, great benefits, mostly positive customers, hospital staff values their IT

    Cons

Working in IT on the hospital level you are often disregarded for the larger Main Line Health IT Structure. Your suggestions are not regarded as highly as someone who is working in the Data Center. On-Site IT Staff does not have the amount of employees required or the resources devoted to them. This is an issue with stark contrast to application teams that have the one application to run, but with the same or more staff than the on-site hospital IT. Low salaries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would highly suggest you pay and provide more support to your on-site IT workers.

I have been working at Main Line Health

    Pros

Even working per-diem, I still feel like a valued member of the team. My co-workers are wonderful and offer much help and support, as I am new to the field. Management is approachable and supportive as well.

    Cons

As a per-diem tech, it is a challenge not having a set schedule. Sometimes I feel out of practice, especially on weeks that I am only called in one day.

I have been working at Main Line Health full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Fair to employees.
    Quality and safety focused.
    Good work environment.

    Cons

Parking at some sites is challenging.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When advancing leadership positions from within, salaries are not vetted correctly. Good employees who are engaged and function well do not have enough room for salary increases. Highly engaged current employees have less reason to advance since recruitment of outside talent is VERY competitively compensated. As we try to do succession planning with current staff- we need to give some incentive for those who might consider advancing themselves.

I worked at Main Line Health as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience, a lot of different departments to work with in the health care setting. It was a nice working environment. Most people seemed to be friendly and caring.

    Cons

There was not an "intern/prospective hires program."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a program for interns so they could grow within your company, gain the skills, and management could gain the opportunity to meet them and possibly hire them in the future. Currently, college interns have to go through the volunteer office and I do not think this helps in terms of growth and educational purposes, or in your favor.

    Pros

I have bills and they have to be paid.

    Cons

No room or opportunities for advancement. Racist workers. Doesn't matter what credentials you have advancement is not awarded fairly. Only five Africa American nurses in the entire hospital. Pay is horrible. Th

I have been working at Main Line Health part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Working for a Magnet Hospital has it perks and there is a strong sense of feeling appreciated and being cared about as an employee. Only here PRN on the off tours, I have enjoyed multiple complimentary meals and have even met the Chief Nursing Officer, all things that I have never accomplished at my other job working full time for the past 5 years.

    Cons

Mainline Health strives for all of their nurses to excel, however; only provides educational opportunities or tuition reimbursement to their full time employees. There are so many changes that occur on a daily basis and clear communication to all disciplines of staff is difficult resulting in many surprises, desirable or not. No raises to PRN staff despite having to complete all the required elements that full time staff do (reviews, etc.).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be more perks to PRN staff as raises (have not received a raise in 3 years, etc.).
