    Pros

    Mainline is a stable company

    Cons

Must be able to be self sufficient.

I worked at Mainline Information Systems full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Technical training was abundant but process training lacked. People are very knowledgable, helpful and welcoming. Great friendly, warm people. Felt like you belonged from day one. You could reach out to anyone in the trenches and they would help with good advice to learn the accounts. Great charitable company that has high focus on giving back to those less fortunate.

    Cons

Longevity in the company seems to be difficult for many. 10 years of hiring and the company is still at 500 employees. Salary is based on your past W2s so if your not being compensated correctly from previous employer this will have a negative impact on your offer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more patient. Communicate one on one more often and clearly to insure everyone knows they are on the same page. As the demographics change give employees an opportunity to move within the company, not just let go. Company has far to much focus on big accounts, if they would embrace more SMBs they would see the value. From the advise of the long time employees, go back to the old Mainline when Rick was president. Use BA to aid the company in ways the leaders don't see. It's a gold mine waiting to be tapped.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Very bright, hard working and focused on doing what's best for the customer. Remote environment encourages people to manage their own time and territories.

    Cons

Privately held company so direction of company can shift quickly. For example, for 25 years company has focused on providing hardware infrastructure. Recently the company let go of most of the hardware infrastructure resources without enough other offerings available to fill the gap. Leaves Account Executives struggling with what to sell because they can't be experts in everything, but there aren't enough product / solution specialists available to help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great culture and hiring practices. Be more clear with direction of company.

    Pros

Very charity/ community minded company. Most people are hired with experience and paid for that experience, very little micro management. You have the access to upper management to make things happen quickly. You have every opportunity to make a great career for yourself.

    Cons

If you like a lot of structure and rules, this may not be the place for you. Although every kind of product training is available, there is little process training. The people that build relationships and are diligent about learning the processes on their own do well at Mainline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe hold a Quarterly Review Call to keep everyone on the same page with the company objectives and how large vendor announcements effect the business.

    Pros

The salary and pay is about average if you succeed. You also don't have to work in an office and can work from home.

    Cons

There is no way that you can trust the senior leadership at this company. Most of them are just yes men, or even worse, they are political animals. The area leaders, at least in my geography, are just plain incompetent!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house of almost all of the executive team. Sell out to a larger company who can run things professionaly
