I have been working at Manchester School District

    Pros

The salary is good. The school I have worked at are good. Most teachers have been there a long time.

    Cons

They lay a lot of people of in the spring because they do not know their budget until June. The teachers contract says that teachers have to know in April or May if their contracts are going to be renewed. They have to call people back after the budget is approved and that is usually late in the season.

    Pros

Excellent teaching staff, at most schools, that care about their students. Teachers must be certified and meet state Highly Qualified Teacher status.

    Cons

The Mayor of Manchester and the School Board do not have backgrounds in education. They try to run the district like a business with no concern about the staff or students. Subsequently, the schools are underfunded. They lack current texts and supplies. Salary increases and health benefits are falling by the wayside. moral of the staff is at an all-time low. The Mayor, School Board, and Aldermen care only about their political futures and they cater the slum lords and business owners only.

    Advice to Management

One of the best ways to increase your tax base is to insure a good school system by working with the schools, NOT against them. Everyone is tired of the lip service. Time to respect the students and staff of the Manchester School District!

    Pros

great people to work with at Manchester School District. great place to start a career, not the best to end it there

    Cons

not always enough work. Too many people work here and wonder if some people have the right qualifications for working there

    Advice to Management

Recruit people from Southern New Hampshire University that have Master's Degrees in a range of fields. It seems that once people are in the positions they never leave when they should
