Pros
wage is decent, good shift flexibility as a casual employee
Cons
poor communication from managers, very little employee development
Advice to Senior Management
seniority should not be the only factor in determining promotions to supervisory and managerial positions. Much more emphasis should be placed on developing front line managers.
Pros
Not a bad wage or benefits, Two weeks holidays after one year full time, Can not gamble in manitoba,no slot machines.
Cons
The favouritism is so bad in the casinos,if you are not liked by the management team your job can be made very very difficult by some managers supervisors inspectors, the people in the jackets,If you make mistakes everyone knows, if you do a good job it is not noticed. People in the jackets are allowed breaks when every, and as long as they like. They can start work late and take a break ten minutes into there shifts.some even get to do their school work and get paid .Sure you get holiday time but it is very hard to get time off at prime time summer and winter holidays, the departments are so big and only one employee at a time so the people that have been there for years get that time with their children. manitoba lotteries makes them self look very good on the outside but really this is a very mean company.
Advice to Senior Management
Please fix what needs to be fixed. Quit sweeping important issues under the carpet .Smile at your employees regardless which department their in.
Pros
benefits and salary are fair and competitive (but does that make it worth working there?); some very good employees to work with; good community spirit
Cons
put down in front of co-workers and other departments; things thrown at me; my work called s**t; told never to talk with or contact anyone above my position; very tough place to work; high turnover rate; never arrive after or leave before the boss; pray you are liked or else; micro managed to death; bullied to death
Pros
Compensation & Benefits compared to the Public sector.
Cons
There is a lot of favoritism within the corporation. Very hard to get promoted unless you are liked by Management. Management runs the corporation like a government not like a business like it is suppose to be (Government run Casino)
Advice to Senior Management
Run the corporation like a business like it is - a casino
