Pros
Little or no management -
Cons
Manpower managment fails to recognize that associates are their product and if they continue to loose experienced people they will have nothing to sell. That being said they also do not have any idea of what the associates do - so have nothing to negotiate with when in contract talks .
Advice to Senior Management
Find out what your associates are doing so you can have value added discussions when in contract talks.
Pros
Worked for a Manpower Franchise, offered good inexpensive health benefits.
Cons
Senior management became unbearable to work for, did not value opinions and ideas of other staff. Used strong hold management style that does not work.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees to collectively solve problems and come up with innovative ideas to do the job. Don't just take the attitude it's our way or the highway.
Pros
You do have some income.
Cons
Other workers may get paid a little more than you, but not much.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer better wages.
Pros
They have plenty of jobs.
Cons
Site managers are more like prison wardens.
Advice to Senior Management
Show some compassion towards subordinates. Apply the same rules that you enforce on employees.
Pros
Great for temporary work assignments between jobs. Account managers really have incentives to find you a spot on short notice. For long-term work it leaves a lot to be desired because benefits are poor and management is in alignment with the clients, not the consultants, when it comes to extensions, raises, etc.
Cons
Most points are already mentioned above.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve your treatment and pay of long-term consultants because the IT industry is very competitive and you will lose your best people.
Pros
They provide the team with the resources required to be successful.
Offer a wide vareity of solutions and can meet any client needs.
Cons
Too big, everything comes from corporate.
Pros
The reason I choose to work at Manpower was due to the flexibility and salary that I was able to have.
Cons
I always had to keep in contact over the phone, and it was a long drive to its headquarters when I needed to talk with someone in person.
Pros
Great idea's and heading in the right direction to be the industry leader. Finally investing in training that was so lacking in order to perform and meet expectattions.
Cons
Rolling out so many changes in such a short time frame and with high expectations. Trying to play catch up without realizing the impact on the field offices. Admire them for finally realizing how behind they were but rolling out so many things at once with field office shaking their heads... who's on first, whose on second....etc. To much to fast for some and to keep up with daily business. Compensation needs to be reviewed and updated. High expecations, low compensation
Advice to Senior Management
Update our technology, equipment in the field offices. We're on the front lines, clients visit the field offices not corporate and we should present ourselves as the first class organization we lead them to believe we are. Our telephone systems are so old it's an embarrassment, some of the common software to make several aspects of our jobs easier and more professional is not available to us, such as Adobe Pro. Ergonomics... is unheard of. Also, look at compensation packages, your way behind on that also.
Pros
Easy to get in as newly graduate
Cons
Bad salary, bad management. Mostly bad salary
Advice to Senior Management
Don't treat people bad, just because they are freash
Pros
The jobs listed on their site tend to be higher-paying than other temp company jobs.
Cons
I signed up with them last summer. Went through all the testing and interviewed with my assigned representative. Per her instructions, I contacted her weekly to let her know that I was available for job assignments. A month into doing this, she told me to stop contacting her and that she would let me know when she had a job for me. It's been now seven months since I signed up with them, and they haven't provided me with one, single job assignment. I would never recommend this temp company to anyone!
Advice to Senior Management
Please advise your employees to communicate with their candidates. It is a waste of time on both ends to go all through all the signing up processes, only to never get any work.
