Pros
Opportunities and the learning experiences in ManpowerCorp International abound. The OB (of out bound) markers are not there but running in the same straight line is never easy. The company evolves and innovates constantly to stay ahead of the curve.
Cons
Autocratic due to the management style and format. The company reacts and responds to market signal fast and sometime leading to undesired outcome.
Advice to Senior Management
The leadership of the company is heavily featured on the managing partner and without his imposing presence and leadership, the company has no form and shape. The managing partner personifies the company.
Leadership should be more sustainable with succession planning for contingency.
Pros
They place you with a job that really fits with what you are good at. The staff cares about you getting a permanent position
Cons
Can be difficult to contact your Manpower Rep
Advice to Senior Management
Have your people return phone calls
Pros
Fulfilling to help other people find jobs, good benefits, good communication from headquarters.
Cons
Not a lot of opportuntiy when working at a small branch.
Pros
Fast paced atmosphere with a lot of opportunity to learn.
Cons
The office is understaffed at times which makes the atmosphere stressful or overwhelming to work in.
Advice to Senior Management
Manpower could benefit from performance ratings and more staff in office at all times.
Pros
Flexible and ability to explore different companies as Manpower is a temporary staffing company. There is benefits such as health insurance and dental which is paid for by the employee. There is a 401k option but you have to wait 6 months after you work there to cash in the amount you paid to get your money back. You do start building vacation time after 1800 hours of work.
Cons
No potential to move up in the company.
Advice to Senior Management
There should be more incentive to make Manpower a permanent possiblity.
Pros
Competent, well-trained branch management structure, widely available across all markets. A worldwide firm, able to drive workforce solutions tailored to local customs, work rules, and market pricing.
Cons
Comprised of multiple business units providing different services to clients... so it can be difficult to integrate a particular complex solution offering to a large client.
Advice to Senior Management
No advice, but I believe it's one of the most collaborative and innovative leadership teams I've been associated with.
Pros
Manpower's nationwide presence make relocating an appealing option if you are looking to move some distance. They are very well known and regarded as a placement agencies and can get you into companies that do not hire directly or post jobs openings publicly.
Cons
The search options are very specific. If you are trying to find where your existing experience and skills can get you in a new industry, it can be difficult to pin point an exact job title or description for relevant search results.
Advice to Senior Management
Career paths and relevant job skills are no longer linear. Recruitment and hiring practices need to adapt to the job market and the available talent. Some adjustments to the job search parameters could identify useful talent aside from how previous experience directly relates to desired position.
Pros
satisfaction of getting a job done
Cons
pressure when needed to get workers quickly
Pros
decent wage and i got along with my manager.
Cons
no room for growth or climb the ladder.
Advice to Senior Management
hopefully the company does wel but i wouldn't highly recommend working there.
Pros
They can get you a job,
Get paid weekly,
If you don't like a job you can just leave,
They don't bother you
Cons
They forget about you once your term ends,
They make you punch you hours in online,
They try to retain full control while your working with their client.
Will try not to pay the client benefits (double time on sundays)
Advice to Senior Management
Don't make us punch in our hours online, while other staffing agencies don't allow it. Also don't try cut back on employee benefits.
