    Pros

When you finally connect with someone, they are willing to work with you on placing you in a job that is a good fit.

    Cons

You will be applying to a lot of jobs and making plenty of phone calls to your nearest Manpower office, before someone bothers to call you back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Manpower part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I didn't know what I wanted to do out of high school so this was a great way to expose myself to different fields.

    Cons

Since it is temp work, you have to be able to call every week to see what's available. Every office is different, I worked for 4.

I worked at Manpower full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Employer pays fees for employee. If placed position is undesirable, they will attempt to find you something else. Paid vacation is automatically compensated after required number of hours worked is reached. Occasionally, if employer rates employee well with Manpower representative, bonus is awarded. Health and dental plan is offered, along with other benefits.

    Cons

If payroll issues arise, takes unusually long time to resolve payroll mistakes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked for Manpower on several occasions. 1st-1 year, 2nd-1.5 years, 3rd-1 year. First 2 were excellent, 3rd was very hard to communicate with my local branch. Management had changed since last occasion, and office seemed very disorganized. Seemed to have a lack of proper effective communication with employees.

    Pros

Good if you only want to work on a temp basis

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try harder to match your people with quality assignments and permanent placement.

    I worked at Manpower

    Pros

No day is going to be the same, so if you enjoy topsy-turvy then the staffing agency business is for you.

    Cons

People are an incredible variable. And when unemployment is low, then variables can be scary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people. Your folks that work directly with the customers and with people looking for employment are your best resource.
