    Pros

Canadian ownership allowed for strategy to be built from HO, great people, strong values, access to senior management

    Cons

I have been working at Maple Leaf Foods full-time

    Pros

The people who work at Maple Leaf are dedicated and dynamic. The company has a great culture focused on their Values, and most people really walk the talk.

    Cons

Recent elimination of "layers" has left fewer opportunities for promotion. As well, the company is in the midst of a turn-around, and there is a lot of focus on hitting the numbers even in the midst of some ongoing operational challenges with new plants impacting product availability.

    Advice to Management

Keep focused on rewarding the right behaviour and those that follow the values. Say thank-you more often and get the facts straight before you react.

They pay well, no doubt about it.

Get a new senior management team - it's about time to put blame where it belongs.
