Former Employee – worked at Marathon Asset Management full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – - beautiful office space and working environment
- some cool co-workers
- great place to learn and be very busy
Cons – - has got a fair share of selfish and angry employees, watch your back, don't trust your manager
- work environment can be unprofessional
- promise one thing, deliver another. they lured me with the promise of a certain bonus and didn't even come close...every year there was another excuse (ie our fund didn't do as expected, you make more than your peers, etc...)
- some clients said they'd never do business with Marathon again, this concerned me and is why I left
Advice to Senior Management – - do more 360 degree reviews and fire the senior executives who don't know how to manage
- focus more on clients and making them happy, so they will do business with you again

Current Employee – been working at Marathon Asset Management
Pros – the midtown location was nice, I guess. The view was also quite nice.
Cons – The culture was a poor fit for my personality (ie: an awesome person.) Little room for advancement. The office is understaffed, and promotions/bonuses did not seem to be merit/performance-based. If you're hoping for a shop that rewards enthusiastic people who start from the ground up and have a willingness to learn, move along and find a smaller, newer fund to work at.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in your employees- even the entry-level ones!

Former Employee – worked at Marathon Asset Management
Pros – Financially looked after (good bonus) except for maternity benefits which is only statutory, surprising for a successful financial firm
Cons – Statutory maternity benefit is poor in comparison to other finance firms. Not much interaction between different departments, more company mtgs would b good.
Advice to Senior Management – To resolve any differences
