I have been working at Marathon Petroleum full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company with excellent work life balance. Fantastic 401K and pension benefits. Competitive compensation relative to industry peer group,.

    Cons

As the site grows, sometimes I feel as if we're understaffed. However, this does bring about new opportunities for growth and exposure to new projects.

I worked at Marathon Petroleum as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Marathon is very pro-teamwork. Everything is done for the betterment of the company. I did not experience anyone in my time there that was working just to get themselves bumped up the corporate ladder.

    Cons

Depending on your location and department, not everyone works the same hours. The refinery atmosphere is much more laid back than corporate, so if you want to dress up everyday or don't have thick skin, this probably isn't for you.
