I worked at Marble Slab full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Learned lots of new things
    Free ice cream
    Nice Manager

    Cons

Worked for free for a day of training for 5 and a half hours
Overly particular and exacting about the presentation of decoration on cakes, cones etc.
Gave me dirty uniform, gave me a large shirt without asking my size, I was expected to pay for it later
Too many jobs to do, learn and be expected to perform
During my interview the job description was poorly explained
Dirty job, lots of cleaning required
On call for a minimum wage job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees always. Especially since the owner was paid by the youth employment program. If I had known the work load involved I would have never agreed to free labour. At the end of a very difficult work day I came away feeling exhausted, my arm and hand hurt for days and I felt unappreciated. Please don`t ask anyone new to a job to have a shift longer then three hours, as it`s overwhelming. Also don`t try and teach a new employee everything all at once. It`s better to ease into a job and it`s easier to retain information if it`s repetitive and gradual. Thank you.

I worked at Marble Slab part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Not much training is needed.

    Cons

Paid was bad. As a server, I worked hard and was very nice to customers. I was still in High School and got paid only the minimum wage. After sometime, I asked for a raise. I got it, all 25 cents per hour of it. A few days later, federal minimum wage went up. The hours are terrible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward hard work and don't treat employees with fairness.

I worked at Marble Slab part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

It helped me learn what it was like in the customer service part of the job world. The family atmosphere was nice and helped move things quicker. It's very fast paced so don't plan on standing there.

    Cons

The manager had favorites and if you weren't one of them then your job became much more difficult than it should have been.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because some of your employees go to church on Sundays doesn't make them any better than the ones that don't.

I worked at Marble Slab part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The pay at Marble Slab was decent and the work environment was clean.

    Cons

-Manager disappeared right before I quit, none of the employees were aware of where he went and never reappeared
    -Hardly any hours
    -Owners seemed inexperienced
-Since I worked at a stadium, the line was ridiculously long no matter how many people were working. Customers were usually unpleasant from the long wait.

I worked at Marble Slab part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    -First time job with tip
    -Can be fun at times
    -Ice cream is great
    -Usually pretty easy
-Ability to move up fairly easily if you're 18
    -Nice people (aside from management)

    Cons

Dealing with management was an entire hassle and deterrent in and of itself throughout my employment. I quit due to a better job offer, to be honest. Not that bad of a first time job, but if you can find a better job, I'd suggest it.

I worked at Marble Slab part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Pros: Nice co-workers, nice people, friendly environment. I would say that it was a decent first job and a good experience for those who have never worked before.

    Cons

Cons: The management wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. The turnover rate was really high because of discrepancies between what was promised in the interview and what actually happened. Chances to get a raise or any significant promotions is also a no-go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to be more connected with individual stores to see how successful they are and why they may not be operating as well as other locations.
