I worked at Marchon Eyewear full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good location in the city, great discount for products, exciting collections to work on, nice co-workers

    Cons

Lack of transparency. Lots of closed-door meetings and backstabbing conversations in the office. Managers don't respect and care about their employees' needs or requests. All kinds of secrets and gossips flowing around. Managers screaming and employee crying in the office happens now and then. Lots of micromanaging from colleagues. No career growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some professional trainings! Know how to manage people. Respect and talk to your employees. Respect their personal needs and help them grow their career. Don't only rely on the opinions of the favorite employee to make decisions. Listen to everyone with a nice attitude. Try to reduce the unnecessary tension happening in the office.

The company as a whole has potential to be great, the people can be challenging to work with.

I have been working at Marchon Eyewear full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Vacation/sick time, medical and 401k policy is decent--eyewear benefits were excellent. Depending on the department, the team perks were great.

    Cons

There isn't too much recognition for a job well done, encouragement or mentor-ship but this mainly had to do with the poor attitude of my dotted line report. Challenging to work with a supervisor (solid line report) who is based in a different country due to a lack of communication, compassion and language barrier.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A little employee appreciation and recognition goes a very along way. I worked with a solid group of girls, and the team dynamics were awesome. The main point on contention was miserable people placed in upper management who did not 'get' the strength of our group and preferred to divide and conquer one by one.

I have been working at Marchon Eyewear

    Pros

Working environment is not too stressful, friendly stuff.

    Cons

Did not see any future in the company. If you have an internship there you will never get a full time offer. They tell you to apply to all open positions and that you will have an edge above other candidates because you already have company experience.

I have been working at Marchon Eyewear full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Some really valuable people work there and able to discounts on frames

    Cons

Our department is ruled by intimidation and fear. Even the managers are afraid of our director and will lie to her just to cover themselves.HR policies like Fraternization is ignored by our director she has already brought in 5 employees that have kept there positions where other employees have been terminated for the same infraction. HR has been made aware and they completely ignore this. No room for advancement just a lot of broken promises. They are not advancing into the future because they are still stuck in the past.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

VSP our corporate company needs to do a full investigation of the practices of Marchon Eyewear due to there inability to fix problems that are draining them financially. VSP HR needs to investigate Marchon's HR Dept for their lack of knowledge and professionalism. They also need to interview all Marchon office employees to understand why they feel upper management is failing.
