Worked at two Columbus, GA locations; a lot of your experience is determined by the person/people who own the store.

I worked at Marco's Pizza part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Training and leadership is decent. Even when a big rush of orders hit it wasn't too stressful. Good place for younger/inexperienced people to begin their working career. Meet great people.

    Cons

    Little potential for growth/advancement.

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Marco's Pizza

    I worked at Marco's Pizza

    Pros

They were fairly flexible people and most of my coworkers seemed nice.

    Cons

The big boss led me to believe that I would have a manager position when the store opened, but they just kept me there to work as a regular employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider being more upfront with your employees. Someone with a college degree doesn't want to be strung along to make pizzas when they were led to believe they would be management

I worked at Marco's Pizza part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

employee and family discounts, management opportunities.

    Cons

Livermore store has reduced their hours of operations, and currently has no general manager to run the store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

marco's corp. needs to step in and train a manager that can run the store for a owner at is not willing to be in the store running the location. the Livermore store is on its way to being close in months.

I have been working at Marco's Pizza

    Pros

I worked at Marco's Pizza full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Free pizza and some of my co-workers were really nice.

    Cons

Less of a marketing job more door to door sales with no commission. And no mileage reimbursement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire high school students and pay them hourly for this position. No manager wants to be forced to work 50-60 hours a week for $500. Reimburse mileage and provide a gas card. Provide a commission.

I have been working at Marco's Pizza part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

If you're a hard worker, you get along with management and you'll get treated with some respect. You aren't trapped at minimum wage forever and there are opportunities for management.

    Cons

You only get 50% if you work at least three hours in a shift. There are higher ups that come in and criticize everything you do for a few hours every once in a while. They just get in the way and like to chat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keeping things clean is really important. My store does, but most in the area do not. It would also help for the corporate people to not come in just to tell people they're doing things wrong. I would rather be told that I need to work on some things and taught better ways to do it than just be told I'm doing it wrong. My General manager is good at that but the random corporates that come in are not.

    Pros

Coworkers, free food when there's a mess up, downtime, experience making sales and interacting with customers, gained experience with money, and being in charge of a team

    Cons

The pay and varying hours, always working Friday and Saturday evening

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give your employees a better discount on your products.
