    Stable Release Process

    Engineering Manager (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsVery stable and regular release process. Stakeholders understand the value of quality code and unit testing and the dangers of scope creep, which is almost non-existent.

ConsWorking on a large, mature web application, technical progress can seem slow sometimes.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great experience in the Silicon Valley

    Junior Data Scientist (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

A lot of flexibility for working hours as long as the work is done.
I was given a lot of freedom handling my internship project (research on online bidding algorithms).

    Nepotism and Post-IPO Woes

    N/A (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

Prosstrong brand, good location, solid benefits

ConsCompany suffering from incessant nepotism and change of management. HR is clueless. Product has lacked innovation for some time.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet back to grassroots. Poor executive hiring is forcing current talent to find less abusive employers. Not ok way you're treating ppl who've dedicated years to mission/vision.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good people, good, product, good service...

    Account Executive (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsVery nice location with great benefits ranging from commuter/parking reimbursement, flex spend, stocked fridge, 3 weeks PTO, solid salary, etc. Product is strong in the market and constantly evolving for the better. People are smart and assertive.

ConsBusiness units are silo'ed and they don't work together cohesively sometimes. Silos create their own culture and they dont always keep the overall mission in mind.

Advice to Senior ManagementReduce the silos - managers need to build cohesive and synergistic teams to really push Marin forward.Keep innovating.

great company in a challenging market

    Localization Manager (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

Pros- best benefits I have ever seen
    - "we don't play the blame game, we look for solutions" is practiced (most of the time)
    - exceptional CEO
    - good work-life balance
    - very diverse group of employees on all levels
    - outstanding engineers

Cons- a tad too compartmentalized, groups don't share enough ideas (look how Goggle does it)
    - in some cases, skills of individual employees are not fully utilized

Advice to Senior Management- since it's a public company now and short-term steps have higher priorities, don't loose the original goals from the long-term plans.

Great place to work with lots of problem solving for an ever evolving SEM market.

    Global Services (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

Pros1. They pay half your commuting costs
    2. Kitchen is stacked
    3. Micro Management is frowned upon
    4. CEO is an actual human being
    5. Tenacious - when it comes to getting the deal
    6. Good People all around in the organization
    7. Deficiencies are "worn on the sleeve" and company is always trying to improve itself.

    Cons1. Dev Cycles are slow
    2. Google defines the rules, which means the game can be changed quickly.
    3. Services is leaned on heavy to accommodate the lack of supporting 3rd party publisher features.
    4. Market moves faster than Software development which means lots of expectation setting with customers anxious to utilize new market features.
    5. Margins on Services side are watched closely

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to get on the same page on the direction the product needs to go in. Management also needs to work more collaboratively across teams to see where opportunities for efficiency gains exist.
