    Prepare to be busy

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsPretty well managed, plenty of clients, great services, good training, coworkers who are passionate about what they do

ConsNot a lot of flexibility in scheduling. Clients can sometimes be obnoxious (but that's not the business' fault).

Be prepared to work like a dog with no reward

    GSR (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsAs a student, there is flexibility in scheduling, which is great. Access to services is also a perk, as well as the discount, which seems to be about average in comparison to other companies. Ability to form long-lasting friendships is a plus.

ConsThis place is a zoo. Some refer to it as a 'hair factory', which is not entirely untrue. There are some really talented individuals that have a very strong following; however, it is company culture to simply get people in the door and get them out as quickly as possible. Many times quality is sacrificed on behalf of time. Compensation is below average for the industry.

Unfortunately, due to low compensation, many employees find other places to go, which in turn also causes a 'revolving door' situation. Additionally, in desperate attempts to staff properly (and clearly an inability to screen candidates), management hires many incompetent individuals, which never receive adequate training.

There is little to no employee recognition; go above and beyond and your endeavors will go unnoticed, but make one mistake and you will definitely be reprimanded. If you already have a target on your back, expect that you will either be forced out or they will find a way to terminate your employment.

Management is extremely lazy and takes no issue in delegating their work. The only time management will fulfill their expected duties is when any member of the corporate office is physically present.

Unrealistic goals are routinely set by the corporate office. Corporate has one concern, which is NOT about its employees' wellbeing, but the bottom line.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay your employees what they deserve to be paid and you will not be stuck hiring incompetent individuals that will perpetuate the revolving door that is this establishment.

Great company to work for, awesome energy from employees and guests.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsCompetitive pay, these salons have a fun, fast paced environment where employees really have a passion for what they do. Guests are loyal and are fun to interact with.

ConsBeing a fast paced environment and having to deal with unsatisfied clients can sometimes prove to be stressful but always worth the challenge.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to employee complaints and communicate with them the actions being taken.

You are the face of the company but they don't want to pay you

    Guest Service Representative (Former Employee)

Prosloved the discount, most of the people are fun & easy to be around, always something to do,

Conspay sucks for the work they want you to do, you must try EXTRA hard to get noticed if your not super skinny, its like being in high school all over on most days full of drama, some guest want your to baby them.

Advice to Senior Managementdon't talk behind peoples back or talk about them to other people when they can hear you.

    worst place to work at

Color Assistant (Former Employee) Oak Brook, IL

    Prosthis company is so overrated

    ConsEVERYTHING.
this place SUCKS. I was hired as an assistant and lasted for barely three weeks. I already have a cosm license, but at this place they have you go through this year long training. But the catch is that it's not really a training, they just slave you around all day for minimum wage. I'd rather work at Mcdonalds, at least I won't be ordered around by wannabe divas, who are most likely high school drop outs with a very low IQ.
Do not get fooled by the prospect of making good money, it will take you years at this place to build a clientele. It's like a zoo in there, they have tons of stylists and colorists.
bottom line is, don't get fooled by the promises, you will basically get treated like everyone's butler.

Advice to Senior Managementassistants should be paid way more than minimum wage, especially when they are licensed

    Part-Time GSR

Guest Service Representative (Former Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsGood discounts and fun atmosphere. Most of the stylists etc. are real fun to work with.

ConsDon't give raises. Some nights can be there hour plus past close.

Advice to Senior ManagementPeople will leave the company if they don't get a raise in 2 years.
