I have been working at Maritz Canada full-time

    Pros

There are many exciting projects to work on. This company is open to helping you expand your experience. There is a good balance between longtime employees and new hires. The culture is so great that it feels like my second home.

    Cons

I would like to know more about what other project teams are doing in market for their clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the energy in the building up and continue to be personable!

I worked at Maritz Canada full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - some very good and talented people

    Cons

    - P&V has no voice, can't resolve anything
    - Lots of politics, inward fighting and back stabbing
    - all starts from the top (CEO) which is a disaster on it's own
    - bullying tactics, have to be a 'groupie' to be listened to or acknowledged of a job well done

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the CEO and put someone in charge who actually knows the business, wants to see it grow and make a mark for Maritz vs leaving it to run itself down and wasting away good talent.

I have been working at Maritz Canada full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Maritz Canada (Bond Brand Loyalty) offers great opportunities to learn and grow in your career - senior leaders are always accessible for career and goal discussions and will go out of their way to ensure you're doing the work that you want to do. Plus, you get to work with some impressive clients that you'll want to tell your friends about.

Culture is absolutely fantastic - it will make you want to stay here for the long-term. Everyone is team-oriented, supportive and collaborative. No idea is just shut-down - you can always share your thoughts, even in a room with top executives. There are also many corporate events that allow you to get to know your co-workers and really make some awesome friends.

    Cons

On boarding could be stronger for most but, you will succeed if you take initiative and own your work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to foster the incredible culture and keep the doors open - the accessibility and communication are what makes things happen.

I worked at Maritz Canada full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunities to work across multiple client teams, huge ambassador of the "work hard, play hard" mentality, lots of opportunity for both vertical and lateral growth, challenging, fast-paced work environment; lots of trust and opportunity to truly develop. They do not "micro-manage".

    Cons

"Cliques"; unclear strategic agendas, if the clients business begins to decrease, they do not keep hard workers on staff, they left everyone go rather then find the loyal hard-workers new positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Greater training when it comes to established processes and being more open to the improvement of those same processes. Just because new hires are typically young business professionals, does not mean that they do not have valid perspective.

I have been working at Maritz Canada full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Diverse business offering. Smart, dedicated people. Great clients. Good benefits like a gym, trainer, cafeteria and community/caring initiatives

    Cons

Lots of talk about the culture and being people focused but actions not consistent with the talk. Very political, starting with the CEO. Being part of the "in group" seems more important than doing good work. Different rules and special treatment apply to people in the group. Losing the best executives - the ones who are authentic and who really lived the values instead of just talking about them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Actions over words.
Don't let your best people leave, starting with the ELT

Even if a company changes their name from Maritz to Bond Brand Loyalty, it's still a bad place to work!

I worked at Maritz Canada full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Individuals and people in your immediate team are great and supportive.

    Cons

    No flexibility
You are forced to sign a contract that only protects Maritz, not the person. Don't sign anything that will affect you even after you leave Maritz, It's just not worth it!
If a project ends, you will be terminated, as it is cheaper to higher new employees at a lower wage than keep good employees.
Salary is below the normal averages...A/Coordinators in FORD make $30 - $35M per year...and other teams...it could range from $40-$45M per year....huge differences.
Constant churn of people...Maritz stopped doing the employee surveys, as the results were so bad.

    Pros

Company culture is great; some great colleagues and smart people

    Cons

Demotivating work environment, stressful work relationship, no growth opportunity, some work bullies, and management that don't care about the entry level employees.

I have been working at Maritz Canada full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Colleague within the project is usually nice. Sales people get the perks!

    Cons

No career growth. After a year, the job becomes repetitive . I regret leaving my previous company. I am not sure where I am heading with this company. They only value their account director who brings in new clients . They do not care about who actually sweat blood on the project.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employee and improve your MCAP process. A lot of your employees doesn't even know what the MCAP is for. It is totally useless and nothing is being done by manager. They are too busy focusing on margin. Also look out for your ethics! Husband and wife can work together in the same project!

    Pros

    Seemed like a good company.

    Cons

Let go near end of probationary period without clear explanation as to why. Does my experience echo the comments of others who have said once projects are done, people are let go?
