I have been working at Mark Andy as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

make very high quality products and all the employees are helpful. Clean environment and good computers for cad design

    Cons

They use a complex file system for their cad files, there is a line between engineers and machinists that can be hindering to the flow of projects

Experience was positive at first but changed drastically as people proved unreliable and unprofessional.

I worked at Mark Andy as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Mark Andy builds interesting equipment and should be proud of what they do. Their products are in the upper rankings in the field. The plant is in a nice location. Full-time employees have great benefits.

    Cons

As a contractor, the growth potential doesn't exist. They are treated like step children. No one wants to communicate with each other. The Management is unwilling to give employees (especially contractors) the proper tools to do the job right. They expect top shelf work on a basement work environment. Interns are treated better and given more respect than contractors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management: When you bring professional contractors on board...listen to them, pick their brains because they move around and become knowledgeable of other industries that can often improve policies that are in place.

I have been working at Mark Andy as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The benefits are there, they give you a lot of time off as well as your standard benefit package. At the same time they are lenient with work life and stride to become an industry leader.

    Cons

There isn't really room for promotions or personal growth. Other then that the company can be viewed as a standard printing company that may often seem stagnant.

    I worked at Mark Andy

    Pros

Team oriented work environment. Customer focused approach. I experienced a supportive management team. With manufacturing and production on site seeing your end product is very rewarding. I liked the excitement of working on the variety of projects I was exposed to while working for Mark Andy supporting the Comco product line.

    Cons

Not an extremely large organization. Once you become good at one function it becomes natural for an individual to stay in that capacity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great job of running a capital equipment business in these challenging economic times. There are difficult decisions that need to be made to survive and prosper.
