    The vacation policy is great!

    The upper management team is awful. They do not know how to treat their employees with respect, they themselves don't event know how to treat each other with it. They are verbally abusive to their employees, name calling, cussing, yelling, you name it they've done it to an employee. They view the employees as replaceable and disposable, if you won't do it, then someone else will and they move on to the next fool to accept the position. The CEO, SVP and COO spend an obscene amount of money on themselves (clothing, jewelry, alcohol, cocaine, extravagant dinners, home remodels, glam squads that travel with them), personal vacations, and private planes and then write it all off as business expenses, no wonder they are getting audited AGAIN. They keep the money for themselves and leave nothing for the employees who need basic office supplies. I've learned a lot while I was there and never again will I work for a company that treats their employees like garbage or owners that are fame whores.

    Advice to Management

    Learn what respect is. SVP-you are not Jennifer Lopez, get over yourself! CEO- you are NOT white chocolate as you proclaim! COO-stop now before you lose your nose!

    Pros

    Market America, always has new projects to work on and is continuously working on new technologies. Working in a growing area such as mobile we have a great growth opportunity that lets you learn from great people who are also passionate about what they do and are focused on doing new things and growing their career. We have mobile web developers, work with responsive design, native iOS , Android, and hybrid application development. We work with new technologies, API's in retail, health and nutrition, music, video streaming and large databases. We have a lot of fun and want to continue to do so with people who want to learn and grow.

    Lots of work to do and not enough time.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to grow, let employees make decision and bring good ideas to the table.

    Pros

    Business that grows everyday in 8 countries and gives you the ability to grow with it. Some area's of the company offer fast pace enjoyable employment filled

    Cons

    Starting as a small company a lot of the hands on management skills have a tendency to hold employees back from getting their jobs done in a timely manner.

    Advice to Management

    Set realistic budgets for departments then let go. You hire the Best, now hold them accountable and listen to New concepts. Too many meeting, not enough work.

    Pros

    Each day is different and as someone who believes in continual education I can honestly say I learn something new every day. After my initial “probation period” where I was still learning the ropes my manager began empowering me to make decisions within my department and role giving me the go ahead to try new things. Some things worked and others didn’t but we’ve always set time to review what happened discuss and move forward. The most important thing for me at any job is trust and respect. I have continued to feel both during my time with Market America which includes my dealings with upper management. There are a lot of great, incredibly talented and friendly people here. The pay is about average and the benefits are quite good.

    Cons

    Market America started as a small family business (which is why most of the upper management is either family, or friends of family), with now over 500 employees it’s still run like a small business. While that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it sometimes bottlenecks progress and can cause people to get loud when they don’t feel like things are moving the way they should. I try not to take that personally, because if I poured 20+ years of my life into something I know I would be passionate about it as well. There are some managers who aren’t the best communicators which doesn’t help when there are tight deadlines.

    Advice to Management

    Require department managers to have some form of communication training so they can continually get better at their positions. Maybe implement an anonymous manager review system so the people under them can tell you where they feel things are lacking so you can help them become more effective leaders.

    Lots of opportunity to learn new things.

    Work environment is stressful. Lots of conflict. Unrealistic expectations. Low pay. No security, people are fired lots.

    Pros

    Good pay for the area, which is the only thing bring new talent into the meat grinder. Anyone working there is either be and new or trying to get out.

    Cons

    I was subject to frequent, sometimes weekly meetings where I was sworn at and verbally abused. I was privy to coworkers being fired, by the owners wife, over the phone. I witnessed entire teams being threatened that their team would be fired. This company is run by a family of drug addicted bullies who have no business being responsible for so many lives and families. You've been warned.

    Advice to Management

    Sell the company, get therapy.
