I have been working at MarketsandMarkets (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. Salary is credited on time 2. Flexible timings (A vital aspect)

    Cons

    1. Improper management 2. Tremendous communication gap between Sr. management and the ground level associates 3. If you're from a specific domain but they will place you in a different domain For example . If you've IT background they'll place you in Chemicals or in Food & Beverages domain. 4. The role of an analyst or associate is extensively restricted because the tremendous power is given to quality and editor team to decide the faith of the report (The bitter truth --> The editor and quality teams with zero domain knowledge but pretends that they're superiors) 5. Superfluous internal friction between team members.

    Advice to Management

Please place place people in a specific domain with the specific qualification. Don't do random placements

I worked at MarketsandMarkets (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary credited on time. Flexible timings. Good for freshers. Good for mediocre guys, but not for people who are ambitious.

    Cons

The company is flooded with nepotism, favoritism, and politics. The upper management seems to have no prior professional experience/ skillset which is very evidently reflected in their irrational decisions time and again. The CEO thinks differently in the pre - 90 day period; hires a global leader (rival company) and then his entire thought process changes, (post 90 day). - Surprising, isn’t it ? The 90 day period backfires big time ! Very unethical research practices followed. The forecast data is imaginary and fabricated (the base taken for the forecast can be not justified). The research methodology is seriously flawed and unrealistic. If you want to learn how to play the blame game and corporate politics – this is indeed the right place for you. At least it teaches you to think on your feet for the wrong reasons! The company cannot afford to use original Microsoft software (This includes MS – Office) Corporate Strategists, Industry experts have mocked this company openly on LinkedIn. Blacklisted by major IT giants. There is no room for people who intend to do quality research. You are forced to come on weekends and even the A/C is switched off. Sales: Whether you are a B.Com, BE, or a graduate from IIMs. You pretty much do the same thing. Pity the people from IIMs/MDIs and other foreign universities, who have spent a fortune on their education to join this organization. I guess even they were fooled ! There are people in this organization with an inflated ego, snobbish, and hardly understand the nitty-gritties of consulting/ research/ sales. You really feel uncomfortable when you realize your seniors are amateurish and some of them do not have fluency in English. Also, there is a sense of discomfort, when you realize the people hired are not of equal caliber. The Learning curve is negligible. The cafeteria is pathetic and unhygienic. @HR team: When you hire someone for their strength, make sure it is well utilized, ensure that their respective line managers are not focusing on their weaknesses to corner them. Please do not hire people from non-technical background and place them in technical domains. It creates imbalance. Please respond to emails. Lots of promises were made but very few were kept. This is one the reasons for such a high attrition rate. @Quality Team: Please understand, you are not qualified enough to understand the topic you are QCing. Most of you are newbies in corporate. Make suggestions, check for flow, consistency etc., that is fine, but refrain from asking stupid questions that irritate the research team. This does not improve the efficiency or productivity.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and smell the coffee ! Firstly, have a clear mission and vision. Don’t compromise on work ethics. Focus on your delivery overhead architecture (if you understand what it is). You need to optimize your senior most resources, so that it leads to a pyramid and not an hour glass structure. Understand your scalability. Is size actually benefiting you or is it a blessing in disguise. (This is where your leadership economics will come into play). Even utilization of resources - There are people just piggybacking.Take steps to eliminate this. Company ko ‘Dukaan’ ki tarah mat chalao! (Don’t run your company like a shop). Don't start building brand equity when you have lost most of your major clients, you will never be able to retain them.

    Pros

None...Absolutely none to talk about. There is literally no pros to even fill compulsory 20 words. Even words fall short of having good words about the company.

    Cons

Disconnect between management and employee, salaries always got delayed by 8-10 days, Quality team's bossy attitude (they need meat in the reports, without any clue about what the report talks about), poor admin & HR team, unethical business practices by creating fake profiles on LinkedIn

    Advice to Management

    No use...they won't listen
