    I have been working at MarkitSERV full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Very little if anything is possitive about this company any more. Gone are the days that you felt as if the company really cared about you as a human and not just a number.

    Cons

    The male managers. MarkitServ has become a company of mostly men in management, these men consistantly belittle any woman that dares have a thought. They continue to take care of each other with nice bonuses while offering little to the women. They provide opportunities for the men, while pushing women aside. I would say if you are a woman looking to work here....don't. You will get nowhere in this organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I would suggest to Brad Levey to open your eyes and ears. Talk to the people that are doing the work for you to get an honest feel of what is going on. They are not happy and you are at risk of lawsuits if this isn't corrected.

    I have been working at MarkitSERV full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Hours are great
    -People are generally friendly

    Cons

    - Talent is severely lacking at all levels
    - Human Resources is not friendly, not helpful, and at times downright rude.
    - Pay is not so great
    - Salary increases almost non-existent
    - Bonuses are very low if at all offered
    - No one is really happy there and it's painfully obvious

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop treating people like they're cannon fodder. Don't patronize your employees. Engage with lower level employees and try to connect with them instead of walking around like you could care less. Spread a bit more of the wealth around, we're the ones doing the grunt work so that your stock can go up one quarter of a percent. Hire and retain great employees. From what I've seen you're neither able to hire good talent nor are you able retain the occasional talent that does come in. Fire your entire HR department and bring in real human beings who care about other people.

    I have been working at MarkitSERV full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Very good focus on personal and professional growth. Strong social and charity committee. The opportunity to build a very good global network with multiple offices across regions. Good work-life balance.

    Cons

    The rapid growth of the organisation as a whole comes with its disadvantages, for example the lack of transparency and/or communication across various silos - products, divisions, centres.

    I have been working at MarkitSERV full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    I like working at Markit as it's a very relaxed and nice atmosphere, colleagues are friendly and the working hours are quite flexible.

    Cons

    Markit has been built by acquiring plenty of small little companies so sometimes there is clash of culture and it's difficult to understand what's going on. The company could be a bit more ruthless as clearly some employees do not know what they are doing and do not deserve to work here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Product Management could be a bit more approachable, it takes a long time to build a good relationship with them.

    I have been working at MarkitSERV full-time

    Pros

    You won't be bored, but you might get frustrated.

    Cons

    They plan, but a small cadre of forceful managers override plans, and bring the delivery stream into chaos. Sometimes this is unavoidable for example because of regulatory needs - but mostly its because a small group of managers want to be the big I AM.

    Leading to chaos, unfocussed bigger picture, slapdash work (due to time constraints) - hard to write a piece of code you could be proud of. Everything is a huge compromise. Not enough refactoring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hurry up and slowdown. Take stock. You would't drive a car like this... so why are you doing it to your teams, and product.

    Pros

    * good working environment
    * good package (salary, all the benefits)
    * not so stressful

    Cons

    * I was hired as a C++ developer but I almost haven't touched C++ programming at all.
