    Solid, growing company with opportunity

    Business Development Manager (Former Employee)
    Mount Laurel, NJ

ProsGood company that weathered the economic storm of the last few years. Most managers have a wealth of experience, and there is the potential here to make very good money.

ConsThis place seems to change every 6-12 months and you have to put up with the pressure.

    Advice to Senior ManagementBe realistic.

    Cowards and Clueless!

    Management (Former Employee)
    Mount Laurel, NJ

ProsFar and few between. I suppose you can appreciate the health benefits, but most larger employers offer something anyway. In the coming years for a company this big they will have to offer it anyway.

ConsSenior Management - - - COWARDS and CLUELESS! They should be ashamed of themselves!! I'm not sure how they sleep at night. Maybe they don't..I hope not.

They don't even have the most basic understanding about business, which is to respect and invest in your employees and to respect and appreciate your customers. To the contrary, their focus is on making the company's financials look pretty and their PERSONAL pockets full!! Can you say GREED???

Advice to Senior ManagementSee above! And oh yeah, resign and then take some time to reflect on how you live your lives. Scoundrels!

A great growth business model and a great environment for those who want to work hard and have fun at the same time.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsLong term growth strategies. Business sticks to what its good at and thinks matter out carefully when contemplating getting into new market channels.

ConsThe business has a very bright future

Advice to Senior ManagementWell capitalized. Let's grow faster.

    It's a j.o.b.

    Sales (Current Employee)
    Mount Laurel, NJ

ProsStated above. Call center mentality. The company makes a lot of money and few of the employees do. Micro managed. Oh, this is supposed to be the "Pros" of working there. Well I'll have to get back to you on that....

ConsThey don't invest in even half decent leads. They'll pay you beat the same dead horses rather than spend the money to get qualified prospects. They are more interested in the number of calls you make than anything else. You have to make so many calls to hit their simpleminded call quota it interferes with real revenue generating activities.

A job rather than a career

    Business Development Manager (Current Employee)
    Mount Laurel, NJ

    ProsNon management workers
    casual environment
    PTO
    health benefits
    No weekends
    Contests for prizes

    ConsMicromanagement
Commission scale has decreased over the last 2 years
    Poor management
    Lack of advancement opps
    Poor morale and negative micromanaging
    Borderline unethicle with corporate decisions
Too much paperwork that takes away from sales
    Too many reports
    Understaffed, overworked, underpaid
    High turnover
    Unrealistic goals
Billing and customer service is ongoing issue
    No account protection

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at the big picture and stop being so short sighted. Collecting fees should not supersede vendor and Customer relationships. Listen to your work force as almost everyone is unhappy but manangement does not seem to care. Increase the commission plan or you will start losing some of your strongest sales people

A Job. Never a career with a future

    Business Development Manager (Current Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsThe people (non management) make the place tolerable. It's sort of a lax work environment. There are less than a handful of people actually making money.

ConsPrepare to be micro managed. You will see more useless reports and meetings that will consume your time than you can imagine. Corporate and the branch have a total disconnect in communication. It is severly hurting the office. Management lacks the ability to listen to the employees or defend the branch to corporate. Goals are unrealistic and are not obtainable on a consistant basis.

Advice to Senior ManagementOpen your eyes and ears to what employees are saying. The place could be far much better than what it is. But this is nothing new, every employee that has left has made suggestions that have fallen on deaf ears..

It's a Job until you find something else...

    Business Development Manager (Former Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

    ProsThe Pay is OK.
    You get Benefits
Your fellow employees are good people

    ConsCorporate steals your customers.
    Management has no balls
    It's a production factory
    There is no company culture
You get BS sales philosophy right out of a book.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake this place worth working for. Fight for your employees deals. Don't give sales philosophy straight out of a book. Stop assessing our time with a calculator. There's a reason that 85% of the staff is currently looking for other places to work.
