    Pros

-The hotel discount is the best benefit. Although as of late, discounts aren't available in the cities that you actually want to stay in during the dates that you actually want to be there. -Health, 401k, profit sharing are all good benefits offered.

    Cons

-You will not receive the proper training needed to perform as a manager, but will be expected to perform at the level of a fully functional manager who has been doing this for years and years. -People at the property will have no idea what a voyager is or what to do with you. Good Luck trying to get through your voyager course work. It is nearly impossible to d when you are thrown to the wolves and expected to run shifts as a voyager before you get all of the training. -Not paid enough for the number of hours you work. -management required to word 10 hours a day. Average work week is more like 60-65 hours a week. -upper management is far too disconnected with the day to day BS that you deal with.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time trying to understand what really goes on daily.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great, and the company provides decent benefits. And the discounts are awesome. Some of the guests are cool to meet.

    Cons

It's hospitality so the hours are awful. You start either too early in the morning or end too late at night, and you never get weekends or holidays off. A lot of guests are very demanding and abusive to staff.

    Advice to Management

The philosophy of Marriott is putting employes first. More can be done for employees to make this promise a reality.

    Pros

I enjoyed the job of interacting with our guest to service their needs. I was provided with all the tools I needed to do a great job . I also was rewarded by the company as well as the guest with a warm smile and thank-you or a service award

    Cons

Dealing with large groups were sometimes trying because of their demands, but as a team member knew it was worth it

Always keep your associates in mind when you make changes in management
