I have been working at Marriott full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The senior management here is very approachable. Department managers treat their teams like family members. Benefits are affordable and they provide a broad range of options to choose from. Scheduling is flexible and you have the ability to trade schedules with other associates. Unlimited overtime with incentives (gas cards, extra $ per hour, drawings for prizes) ect...during peak season.

    Cons

Shared workspaces...not really a con, but you never want to risk getting sick from another co-worker.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing!! It's working :-)

I worked at Marriott full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Wide variety of positions in the call center. They like to hire internally. They are open 24hrs so there is a wide variety of schedules to choose from.

    Cons

Working holidays and weekends is required until you have tenure. Sometimes it is difficult to get time off when it gets busy during the summer months

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Monitoring calls and explaining all the rta aspects when you first get hired.

They try hard to keep up morale but the realities of working with the public are oftentimes too much to bear.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I like the positive feedback and opportunities for overtime. Training was thorough.

    Cons

Low pay sucks big time. Working in a call center leads the public to treat you like you're an idiot. Isolating at times and wacky schedules.

I worked at Marriott full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good work environment; chance to work from home; many benefits including hotel discounts. You don't have bosses breathing down your back, and it is easy to get a good schedule with good performance and some seniority.

    Cons

The pay is not enough to support a household. They want you to work overtime when you least want to work (summer, holidays, etc.). They encourage you to take time off when you need to work the most. You must maintain 92 percent of your work time on the phones, and your breaks must adhere to strict schedules.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the "Guaranteed Fair Treatment" policy and cut some slack to long-term employees with great service records.. The GTF policy treats good and bad workers equally.

    Pros

    Employee hotel discounts were fantastic
    Friendly environment
    Loved the staff

    Cons

The one I worked at had managers with lots of longevity and loved their job, so there was never an opportunity to move up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you don't have opportunities at your own property for advancement, assist staff in finding opportunities at other locations.
