I have been working at Marriott full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Marriott International is a great employer- keep in mind that only about 60% of Marriott Hotels are operated by Marriott International, the others are managed independently by hospitality groups- that may have varied employee benefits (except of course everyone gets the room discounts). The moto for Marriott was always putting the employees first- because they will in turn take care of the guests. Examples of this are in the form of competitive pay, employee parties, incentives for performance, etc.

    Cons

    Can have inconsistent management.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Management really tries to work with my schedule. They are strict but will praise your work regularly. They
always have fun events for staff and encourage a positive atmosphere.

    Cons

The pay is the worst I've ever made. But I was still learning my position so I feel certain they will give me a
    raise in the near future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good employees will leave the company over salaries. Although no one is suppose to discuss what thay make
here, unfortunely they do talk about it. I'm aware of people just hired making more for a job not as qualified. Leads
me to believe they will cheat you out of a fair salary if they can get away with it. Not a good feeling and makes me
less loyal. Big mistake by the General Manager.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great staff, everyone is so friendly and helpful. I was eager to learn and everyone was willing and eager to teach. Able to work in different areas and learn new tasks. I always feel very empowered to help our guests, no matter the task or the issue at hand. Management is very helpful. HR is amazing.

    Cons

scheduling conflicts, lots of nights and weekends. I am single mom and working the nights and weekends is difficult, and there is not a lot of wiggle room when it comes to schedule changes.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Marriott has one of the friendlies staff members and the team work is incomparable. I have always wanted to work for a company that I really liked and not just needed for a check, and now I have found it and I plan to grow and mature with the company.

    Cons

As with any job you will always have challenges and one of the biggest challenges that I see is when people get set in their ways and are not willing to accept change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a conscious effort not to make a difference between your host, no matter what the differences in work ethic are. This will make for a positive experience for everyone.
