    Pros

Structured and Resources available to enmployees

    Cons

It may be Hard to grow, too much paperwork, internal preferences may not be fair to new candidates. Leadership I'd focused on money and is forgetting the priNiles which made this company successful in the first place.

    Pros

Good work environment and a good management team. Friendly atmosphere for employees and good tips. Frequent vacation hours. Very good benefits and hotel discounts are welcome plus.

    Cons

Long work hours are expected and the schedule shifts often. Management unresponsive to changes and asks for unreasonable expectations. No christmas bonus management not trusting of employees. No raises.

    Advice to Management

Increase trust in employees and offer more incentives to work harder. Ask for more ideas from employees and be more involved in the day to day activities of the corporation.

    Pros

    Good team, and active work.

    Cons

Low paid work, pays only half of what you work, poor priorities from the supervisors, not enough tools to perform a better job, the standards are not well established.

  8. LOVED working here, treated amazingly as an associate, but must have passion and be willing to give up work-life balance

    Pros

-Given empowerment and backed up in sticky situations
-Truly stick to their values/morals instilled by Mr. and Mrs. Marriott
-Marriott family very humble-met them twice in 2 and 1/2 years working for them
-International company, properties all over the world
-Amazing opportunity for growth for hard-workers
    -Meet hundreds of amazing people
    -Teaches you business principals
-Prestigious, hard to get hired by them
    -Great benefits

    Cons

-HOURS, be prepared to work nights/weekends/holidays, after all a hotel is open 24/7
-Hard to achieve a good work-life balance due to long hours
-Large company politics, sometimes having to do something because the whole company is doing it
-Lack of support, too much on one person's plate
-Salary could have been better for amount of stress related to the job
-Entry-level management program (now called Voyager) is a pro and a con because it is a GREAT jump start into Marriott and management but it is too low of a salary for the extreme stress placed on you

    Advice to Management

As generation Y is getting into the workforce and up into management positions recognize that we do not want to work long hours and wait 20 years or more to have fun-after we retire. We want to put our time in, but having a work-life balance is and ever-growing necessity and a very attractive aspect when considering a job offer/staying loyal to your company. Just because some people choose to be there from 6am-7pm daily and come in on weekends doesn't mean that you should be pressured to do so as well. Also raise the salaries of Voyagers. Our job is extremely stressful with long hours in a lot of cases and the pay just isn't enough.

    Pros

Employees offered support and opportunities to move up from your position. Good leadership. I always felt like my management cared.

    Cons

Lots of work, but it's worth it. I had a couple shifts of leadership, but they were voluntary terminations to move to other job opportunities.

    Advice to Management

At my location I had a lot of support, a little bit of more attention to direct supervisor would ease work load on employees.
