At least in my department, I have a great manager who does not look over your shoulder, he lets you do your work and leaves you alone if you are a producer

    Pros

As a sales executive, you can make good money. Percentages and bonuses will vary from site to site. Some project directors try to hit budget focusing on costs while others focus on sales. If the PD of your site focuses mostly on costs, it's usually the sales executives that take the hit financially.

    Cons

You are asked to close at a certain percentage, but marketing will often send in unqualified tours and management doesn't care.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of low performers and feed top performers, help them make a lot of money.

    Pros

Great management, great pay, great people, great benefits, etc.

    Cons

No room for growth in the company.

I worked at Marriott Vacation Club full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great pay if producing sales. My best month was $30,000. Plenty of prospects to talk to when the economy is good and they have great value for the customer.

    Cons

Many of the young sales managers did not have the life experiences to produce sales and lost sales that could have closed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great company and product. Managers with more life experience should be chosen for floor sales managers to produce more sales from people who wanted and could afford the product.

I worked at Marriott Vacation Club part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Marriott will work with you on a school schedule, they will give you the tools to become a manager at their company or another in the future, and they pay pretty decent wages.

    Cons

At times your bonus can be effected by things completely out of your control, certain departments have minimum hour restrictions making it harder to move up in the company when you go to school full time, not many positions available for non-customer-service jobs (ie. reporting specialist, IT, etc).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice to give. Management is doing the best they can and doesn't need to improve much of anything.
