    Pros

Best in class brokerage. Work life balance with minimal performance expectations. Plenty of resources. Top talent at top but weak talent in support roles.

    Cons

Sales focus that has turned attention from employee growth and development to production. Comp structure focused on production and incentives not well aligned

    Advice to Management

    Add staff

    Pros

Great benefits, lots of opportunities for continued education and movement within the firm if you are proactive, and many wonderful people/resources

    Cons

Corporate environment, and your actual work gets lost in the amount of protocols to follow, constantly changing systems/programs, pay increases are tough to get, culture can be less than inspiring

    Advice to Management

Incorporate peer reviews and skip reviews where colleagues get to provide feedback to their manager's manager. This will retain employees and curb poor management practices.

    Pros

Enjoy department and direct managers. Good benefits. Challenging and dynamic work. Social atmosphere.

    Cons

Lots of work, hard to balance while trying to move up. Not much transparency with pay or promotion/career path. Upper management makes lots of process changes that make day to day work harder for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who do the work/ broker the deals/ are in the systems day in and day out.

    Pros

    Lots of opportunities.
Age doesn't restrict your responsibility level.
Company changes will make it a top level firm once implemented.

    Cons

    Tends to be a boys-club.
    Job responsibilities currently changing.

Changing strategy and market conditions cause the layoff of quality control department. There were too many chiefs.

    Pros

Good benefits, flexible work schedule including work at home, and colleagues were great to work with.

    Cons

Change in strategy in New York doesn't filter down to the lower levels, until it is too late. I believe our department was set up until the technology became available to do our job at lower cost, and then we were let go. I have a good idea that was the strategy from the get-go.

    Pros

Decent starting pay and good benefits. Decent flexibility of work/personal schedules. Professional atmosphere. Good access to social work related events, free drinks after work, dinners, lunches, etc.

    Cons

Great place to work but jumping ship is the only way to advance your career professionally. Pay structure is set up to minimize costs not reward people or keep them around long term. They can attract you with a high salary but don't expect more than 2-3% annual raises. Training is NON EXISTENT.

    Advice to Management

I get that your job is to maximize shareholder value but a little more dedication to employee satisfaction would yield better results than the costs associated with turnover.
