    Pros

Nice pay, benefits (if you can get them)

    Cons

Poorly run company, micro-managed, not really for the employees, 60-70 hrs/week, do not get holidays off, not enough hours for all tasks within the store, company could care less about the individuals, high prices

    Advice to Management

    Sell the company

    Pros

Your co-workers are nice. Everyone has a bad day every once in a while. Love doing my job.

    Cons

Basically if you have not been there for 20 years, do not expect anything . Men move up in the company, but not so easy for women.

    Advice to Management

It is really disappointing that I have a degree and I get paid .20 cents more. I wish I could get paid for a job that I was promoted to. After four months, no changes.

    Pros

Store wasn't to big so everyone knew each other, employees had a small community
    Work wasn't to demanding

    Cons

Shifts varied drastically. Some weeks I'd work one day, others I'd work all 7 days.

    Advice to Management

    Consistent work hours

    Pros

The schedules are flexible, which was great while being in school. Compensation was good compared to other part time jobs.

    Cons

Since it is retail the stores are always open (holidays, weekends). Since the Marsh family does not own the company anymore, it is more about the "bottom line" than the employees.

    I worked at Marsh Supermarkets

    Pros

Depending on what Marsh you go to determines what the environment will be like. I liked the employees for the most part, and the ability to choose your own schedule as a part timer was nice.

    Cons

Even though Management was nice, they can't determine who gets a raise like at other companies. It's all based off the yearly raise of thirty cents. No more no less. Some people that are full time end up staying with the company for years which means finding a full time position with a little more pay is hard but not impossible. Over all, I'd say it's an okay job for a short time until you find a better one.

    Advice to Management

I don't know everything, but one thing I do know is that not everyone that applies is on food stamps. So what would be nice is if each individual store was in charge of giving raises/bonuses. I understand some employees don't work hard because they know the other guy will, but if that could be recognized, some things might run more smoothly.

    Pros

Good people that you work with

    Cons

Extremely difficult c-level team (CEO and CFO)

    Advice to Management

Learn to treat your team with dignity and respect. We are all adults....no reason to beat and berate your own team. It is demoralizing. Learn how positive leadership skills....not negative uninspiring ones.

    Pros

Most people are pretty friendly...The management is usually understanding if you need to request days off, and they can work with another job's schedule/ your school schedule pretty well.

    Cons

There is not much opportunity for advancement. The pay is better than some compettiors, but not as much as other grocery stores.

    Pros

Great pharmacists, very flexible schedule, ability to genuinely interact with customers, store manager kept OTC items fully stocked and clean (not pharmacy's responsibility), ability to interact with pharmacists/techs from other Marsh stores, very user friendly computer system
I worked there for 5 years as an intern and loved it; If I didn't relocate out of state I would love to work there are a pharmacist.

    Cons

Intern pay is considerably less than other retail chains, upper management can be out of touch as to what is happening at the pharmacy level and often institute new initiatives that are not productive.
