Pros – Great quality of coworkers.Good teamwork and camaraderie among peers. Nice working environment with an easy commute. It's in Iowa.
Cons – Revolving door of senior executives. For example, at least 6 different CEO s in 10 years making it impossible to chart a strategic course then sail there.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more inclusive and really look around you at the talent available. You're missing it by not involving capable people in our leadership team.

Pros – Great benefit package, great resources available, hours are from 8:30am to 5:30pm, largest risk management broker in the world.
Cons – Performance Reviews are biased, compensation needs to be raised for certain position, career limitations, more training needs to be provided in general to avoid large E&O's.
Advice to Senior Management – Compensate employees fairly and accordingly compared to competition.

Current Employee – been working at Marsh & McLennan Companies
Pros – Excellent benefits package, relaxed office environment, interesting colleagues. Local roles are limited but there are many opportunities to advance or move around in the company if you are willing to relocate.
Cons – It is really up to the individual to push the envelope and get noticed in order to be given the opportunity to grow. The tools are available but a lot of personal effort is required in order to advance.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to encourage colleagues to become involved. When hiring new colleagues, highlight the growth opportunities that are available and be sure to state plainly that most opportunities for advancement outside of supervisor/manager roles will require relocation. Figure out how to reduce the high turnover.

Current Employee – been working at Marsh & McLennan Companies
Pros – It's a great company. Excellent pay, excellent advancement opportunities, scored 100 on the HRC Equality Index, community service minded, flexible in scheduling
Cons – The one big con I can think of is that MMC is such a huge company that you can sometimes feel like just a number, but that feeling goes away pretty quickly.

Current Employee – been working at Marsh & McLennan Companies
Pros – The leadership of the company is breaking down silos, investing in innovation, and is looking to develop the company's top talent.
Cons – There are too many crusty old curmudgeons holding onto the ways of the past. We need some fresh blood and fresh thinking to quickly resuscitate this century-old organization.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in people, invest in innovation. Embrace failure, embrace learning. Manage risk, manage complexity--don't try to avoid or eliminate it.
