I have been working at Marshall Medical Center full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Nice co workers, most everyone shares the same consensus

    Cons

Every minute negative is dealt with as if a major calamity had hit. Every major positive was ignored. Employees, especially clinics are afraid to speak out due to repercussions. Employees are not sufficiently trained before being thrown into positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a college course or two. Times change, education is important. Keeping up on modern day interdisciplinary and behavioral sciences would greatly benefit this organization.

I worked at Marshall Medical Center full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Employee opinions matter, and employees are asked to help make Marshall a better place. Patient opinions matter and changes are made based off of feedback. Competitive salaries, friendly atmosphere, and great co workers make this a great place to be. Upper management is approachable, and different units work together for the greater good.

    Cons

I don't have one complaint, I was a very satisfied employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep excellent patient care at the forefront during this time of change.

    Cons

Difficult to get promotions. Young inexperienced nurses preferred. No rewards for hard work. All about MONEY.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the floors. Attend staff meetings. Talk to staff. Know what's going on!

I have been working at Marshall Medical Center full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The best thing about working at MMCN is the employees .

    Cons

My challenges were the limited opportunity to learn specialty procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management need to take more time to listen to their employees. In my experience, you can't mix friendship or show favoritism in the work place. Also , when you can show your employees that they are appreciated ( an employee of the month or year ) different incentives to show that they are valued.
