    Pros

Small Group of people; makes it a cozier environment Teamwork is heavily involved Traveling to shoots and actually working with Martha is a plus

    Cons

Sometimes job duties can get a little hectic, but nothing you can't handle if you know the role of your job

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Being a company that prides itself in quality and beautiful products, it was very inspirational. It was fun to work with products that touch people across the country.

    Cons

Things do not happen quickly at MSLO because of the long lines of management.

    Advice to Management

I enjoyed the support from the multiple managers I had contact with. Please keep up with the encouragement of personal growth.

    Pros

Great products and good teams who believe in their work and are proud of the products and services they produce.

    Cons

Considering the hours worked, compensation could be higher. Culture doesn't really support hourly lunches. People work through lunch and usually eat at their desks.

    Advice to Management

Art directors are rewarded for their work through promotions and salaries, but the entire editorial staff works hard and should be equally rewarded.

    Pros

The team I work on is really great. The managers really go to bat for the team, and we get to work on some fun projects. The management is pretty dedicated to letting people work on the things that interest them.

    Cons

The physical location of the office makes it pretty difficult to get lunch or run errands during lunch, and the pay is below market for most positions. There have been layoffs each year that I've been there so that might be something to consider.

Location near Chelsea Piers is not as conveinient as working in midtown, but offers a lovely park on the water to walk in during lunch, and the High Line is only 1 block away.

    Pros

I worked for a wonderful department and reaped the benefits of being taught. Free publications, cool photo shoots, the ability to learn about the story-making process from inception to print.

    Cons

The amount of layoffs were excessive and I noted a bit of internal strife among upper management.
